Stand ٱلَّيْلَal-layla
(in) the night إِلَّاillā
except قَلِيلًۭاqalīlan

(with) measured rhythmic recitation ٤

إِنَّاinnā
Indeed, We سَنُلْقِىsanul'qī
will cast عَلَيْكَʿalayka
upon you قَوْلًۭاqawlan
a Word ثَقِيلًاthaqīlan
heavy ٥
Indeed, We سَنُلْقِىsanul'qī
will cast عَلَيْكَʿalayka
upon you قَوْلًۭاqawlan
a Word ثَقِيلًاthaqīlan
heavy ٥
إِنَّinna
Indeed نَاشِئَةَnāshi-ata
(the) rising ٱلَّيْلِal-layli
(at) the night هِىَhiya
it أَشَدُّashaddu
(is) very hard وَطْـًۭٔاwaṭan
and most potent وَأَقْوَمُwa-aqwamu
and more suitable قِيلًاqīlan
(for) Word ٦
Indeed نَاشِئَةَnāshi-ata
(the) rising ٱلَّيْلِal-layli
(at) the night هِىَhiya
it أَشَدُّashaddu
(is) very hard وَطْـًۭٔاwaṭan
and most potent وَأَقْوَمُwa-aqwamu
and more suitable قِيلًاqīlan
(for) Word ٦
إِنَّinna
Indeed لَكَlaka
for you فِىfī
in ٱلنَّهَارِl-nahāri
the day سَبْحًۭاsabḥan
(is) occupation طَوِيلًۭاṭawīlan
prolonged ٧
Indeed لَكَlaka
for you فِىfī
in ٱلنَّهَارِl-nahāri
the day سَبْحًۭاsabḥan
(is) occupation طَوِيلًۭاṭawīlan
prolonged ٧
وَٱذْكُرِwa-udh'kuri
And remember ٱسْمَis'ma
(the) name رَبِّكَrabbika
(of) your Lord وَتَبَتَّلْwatabattal
and devote yourself إِلَيْهِilayhi
to Him تَبْتِيلًۭاtabtīlan
(with) devotion ٨
And remember ٱسْمَis'ma
(the) name رَبِّكَrabbika
(of) your Lord وَتَبَتَّلْwatabattal
and devote yourself إِلَيْهِilayhi

(with) devotion ٨
رَّبُّrabbu
(The) Lord ٱلْمَشْرِقِl-mashriqi
(of) the east وَٱلْمَغْرِبِwal-maghribi
and the west لَآlā
(there is) no إِلَـٰهَilāha
god إِلَّاillā
except هُوَhuwa
Him فَٱتَّخِذْهُfa-ittakhidh'hu
so take Him وَكِيلًۭاwakīlan
(as) Disposer of Affairs ٩
(The) Lord ٱلْمَشْرِقِl-mashriqi
(of) the east وَٱلْمَغْرِبِwal-maghribi
and the west لَآlā
(there is) no إِلَـٰهَilāha
god إِلَّاillā
except هُوَhuwa
Him فَٱتَّخِذْهُfa-ittakhidh'hu
so take Him وَكِيلًۭاwakīlan
(as) Disposer of Affairs ٩
وَٱصْبِرْwa-iṣ'bir
And be patient عَلَىٰʿalā
over مَاmā
what يَقُولُونَyaqūlūna
they say وَٱهْجُرْهُمْwa-uh'jur'hum
and avoid them هَجْرًۭاhajran
an avoidance جَمِيلًۭاjamīlan
gracious ١٠
And be patient عَلَىٰʿalā

what يَقُولُونَyaqūlūna
they say وَٱهْجُرْهُمْwa-uh'jur'hum
and avoid them هَجْرًۭاhajran
an avoidance جَمِيلًۭاjamīlan
gracious ١٠
وَذَرْنِىwadharnī
And leave Me وَٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَwal-mukadhibīna
and the deniers أُو۟لِىulī
possessors ٱلنَّعْمَةِl-naʿmati
(of) the ease وَمَهِّلْهُمْwamahhil'hum
and allow them respite قَلِيلًاqalīlan
a little ١١
And leave Me وَٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَwal-mukadhibīna
and the deniers أُو۟لِىulī
possessors ٱلنَّعْمَةِl-naʿmati
(of) the ease وَمَهِّلْهُمْwamahhil'hum
and allow them respite قَلِيلًاqalīlan
a little ١١
إِنَّinna
Indeed لَدَيْنَآladaynā
with Us أَنكَالًۭاankālan
(are) shackles وَجَحِيمًۭاwajaḥīman
and burning fire ١٢

وَطَعَامًۭاwaṭaʿāman
And food ذَاdhā
that غُصَّةٍۢghuṣṣatin
chokes وَعَذَابًاwaʿadhāban
and a punishment أَلِيمًۭاalīman
painful ١٣
And food ذَاdhā
that غُصَّةٍۢghuṣṣatin
chokes وَعَذَابًاwaʿadhāban
and a punishment أَلِيمًۭاalīman
painful ١٣
يَوْمَyawma
(On the) Day تَرْجُفُtarjufu
will quake ٱلْأَرْضُl-arḍu
the earth وَٱلْجِبَالُwal-jibālu
and the mountains وَكَانَتِwakānati
and will become ٱلْجِبَالُl-jibālu
the mountains كَثِيبًۭاkathīban
a heap of sand مَّهِيلًاmahīlan
pouring down ١٤
(On the) Day تَرْجُفُtarjufu
will quake ٱلْأَرْضُl-arḍu
the earth وَٱلْجِبَالُwal-jibālu
and the mountains وَكَانَتِwakānati
and will become ٱلْجِبَالُl-jibālu
the mountains كَثِيبًۭاkathīban
a heap of sand مَّهِيلًاmahīlan
pouring down ١٤
إِنَّآinnā
Indeed, We أَرْسَلْنَآarsalnā
[We] have sent إِلَيْكُمْilaykum
to you رَسُولًۭاrasūlan
a Messenger شَـٰهِدًاshāhidan
(as) a witness عَلَيْكُمْʿalaykum
upon you كَمَآkamā
as أَرْسَلْنَآarsalnā
We sent إِلَىٰilā
to فِرْعَوْنَfir'ʿawna
Firaun رَسُولًۭاrasūlan
a Messenger ١٥
Indeed, We أَرْسَلْنَآarsalnā
[We] have sent إِلَيْكُمْilaykum
to you رَسُولًۭاrasūlan
a Messenger شَـٰهِدًاshāhidan
(as) a witness عَلَيْكُمْʿalaykum
upon you كَمَآkamā
as أَرْسَلْنَآarsalnā
We sent إِلَىٰilā
to فِرْعَوْنَfir'ʿawna
Firaun رَسُولًۭاrasūlan
a Messenger ١٥
فَعَصَىٰfaʿaṣā
But disobeyed فِرْعَوْنُfir'ʿawnu
Firaun ٱلرَّسُولَl-rasūla
the Messenger فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُfa-akhadhnāhu
so We seized him أَخْذًۭاakhdhan
(with) a seizure وَبِيلًۭاwabīlan
ruinous ١٦
But disobeyed فِرْعَوْنُfir'ʿawnu
Firaun ٱلرَّسُولَl-rasūla
the Messenger فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُfa-akhadhnāhu
so We seized him أَخْذًۭاakhdhan
(with) a seizure وَبِيلًۭاwabīlan
ruinous ١٦
فَكَيْفَfakayfa
Then how تَتَّقُونَtattaqūna
will you guard yourselves إِنin
if كَفَرْتُمْkafartum
you disbelieve يَوْمًۭاyawman
a Day يَجْعَلُyajʿalu
(that) will make ٱلْوِلْدَٰنَl-wil'dāna
the children شِيبًاshīban
gray-haired ١٧
Then how تَتَّقُونَtattaqūna
will you guard yourselves إِنin
if كَفَرْتُمْkafartum
you disbelieve يَوْمًۭاyawman
a Day يَجْعَلُyajʿalu
(that) will make ٱلْوِلْدَٰنَl-wil'dāna
the children شِيبًاshīban
gray-haired ١٧
ٱلسَّمَآءُal-samāu
The heaven مُنفَطِرٌۢmunfaṭirun
(will) break apart بِهِۦ ۚbihi
therefrom كَانَkāna
is وَعْدُهُۥwaʿduhu
His Promise مَفْعُولًاmafʿūlan
to be fulfilled ١٨
The heaven مُنفَطِرٌۢmunfaṭirun

is وَعْدُهُۥwaʿduhu
His Promise مَفْعُولًاmafʿūlan
to be fulfilled ١٨
إِنَّinna
Indeed هَـٰذِهِۦhādhihi
this تَذْكِرَةٌۭ ۖtadhkiratun
(is) a Reminder فَمَنfaman
then whoever شَآءَshāa
wills ٱتَّخَذَittakhadha
(let him) take إِلَىٰilā
to رَبِّهِۦrabbihi
his Lord سَبِيلًاsabīlan
a way ١٩
Indeed هَـٰذِهِۦhādhihi
this تَذْكِرَةٌۭ ۖtadhkiratun
(is) a Reminder فَمَنfaman
then whoever شَآءَshāa
wills ٱتَّخَذَittakhadha
(let him) take إِلَىٰilā
to رَبِّهِۦrabbihi
his Lord سَبِيلًاsabīlan
a way ١٩
۞ إِنَّinna
Indeed رَبَّكَrabbaka
your Lord يَعْلَمُyaʿlamu
knows أَنَّكَannaka
that you تَقُومُtaqūmu
stand أَدْنَىٰadnā
(a little) less مِنmin
than ثُلُثَىِthuluthayi
two-thirds ٱلَّيْلِal-layli
(of) the night وَنِصْفَهُۥwaniṣ'fahu
and half of it وَثُلُثَهُۥwathuluthahu
and a third of it وَطَآئِفَةٌۭwaṭāifatun
and (so do) a group مِّنَmina
of ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna
those who مَعَكَ ۚmaʿaka
(are) with you وَٱللَّهُwal-lahu
And Allah يُقَدِّرُyuqaddiru
determines ٱلَّيْلَal-layla
the night وَٱلنَّهَارَ ۚwal-nahāra
and the day عَلِمَʿalima
He knows أَنan
that لَّنlan
not تُحْصُوهُtuḥ'ṣūhu
you count it فَتَابَfatāba
so He has turned عَلَيْكُمْ ۖʿalaykum
to you فَٱقْرَءُوا۟fa-iq'raū
so recite مَاmā
what تَيَسَّرَtayassara
is easy مِنَmina
of ٱلْقُرْءَانِ ۚl-qur'āni
the Quran عَلِمَʿalima
He knows أَنan
that سَيَكُونُsayakūnu
there will be مِنكُمminkum
among you مَّرْضَىٰ ۙmarḍā
sick وَءَاخَرُونَwaākharūna
and others يَضْرِبُونَyaḍribūna
traveling فِىfī
in ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍi
the land يَبْتَغُونَyabtaghūna
seeking مِنmin
of فَضْلِfaḍli
(the) Bounty ٱللَّهِ ۙl-lahi
(of) Allah وَءَاخَرُونَwaākharūna
and others يُقَـٰتِلُونَyuqātilūna
fighting فِىfī
in سَبِيلِsabīli
(the) way ٱللَّهِ ۖl-lahi
(of) Allah فَٱقْرَءُوا۟fa-iq'raū
So recite مَاmā
what تَيَسَّرَtayassara
is easy مِنْهُ ۚmin'hu
of it وَأَقِيمُوا۟wa-aqīmū
and establish ٱلصَّلَوٰةَl-ṣalata
the prayer وَءَاتُوا۟waātū
and give ٱلزَّكَوٰةَl-zakata
the zakah وَأَقْرِضُوا۟wa-aqriḍū
and loan ٱللَّهَl-laha
Allah قَرْضًاqarḍan
a loan حَسَنًۭا ۚḥasanan
goodly وَمَاwamā
And whatever تُقَدِّمُوا۟tuqaddimū
you send forth لِأَنفُسِكُمli-anfusikum
for yourselves مِّنْmin
of خَيْرٍۢkhayrin
good تَجِدُوهُtajidūhu
you will find it عِندَʿinda
with ٱللَّهِl-lahi
Allah هُوَhuwa
It خَيْرًۭاkhayran
(will be) better وَأَعْظَمَwa-aʿẓama
and greater أَجْرًۭا ۚajran
(in) reward وَٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟wa-is'taghfirū
And seek forgiveness ٱللَّهَ ۖl-laha
(of) Allah إِنَّinna
Indeed ٱللَّهَl-laha
Allah غَفُورٌۭghafūrun
(is) Oft-Forgiving رَّحِيمٌۢraḥīmun
Most Merciful ٢٠
Indeed رَبَّكَrabbaka
your Lord يَعْلَمُyaʿlamu
knows أَنَّكَannaka
that you تَقُومُtaqūmu
stand أَدْنَىٰadnā
(a little) less مِنmin
than ثُلُثَىِthuluthayi
