بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
بَلِbali
Nay ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna
those who كَفَرُوا۟kafarū
disbelieve فِىfī
(are) in عِزَّةٍۢʿizzatin
self-glory وَشِقَاقٍۢwashiqāqin
and opposition ٢
Nay ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna
those who كَفَرُوا۟kafarū
disbelieve فِىfī
(are) in عِزَّةٍۢʿizzatin
self-glory وَشِقَاقٍۢwashiqāqin
and opposition ٢
كَمْkam
How many أَهْلَكْنَاahlaknā
We destroyed مِنmin
before them قَبْلِهِمqablihim
before them مِّنmin
of قَرْنٍۢqarnin
a generation فَنَادَوا۟fanādaw
then they called out وَّلَاتَwalāta
when there (was) no longer حِينَḥīna
time مَنَاصٍۢmanāṣin
(for) escape ٣
How many أَهْلَكْنَاahlaknā
We destroyed مِنmin
before them قَبْلِهِمqablihim
before them مِّنmin
of قَرْنٍۢqarnin
a generation فَنَادَوا۟fanādaw
then they called out وَّلَاتَwalāta
when there (was) no longer حِينَḥīna
time مَنَاصٍۢmanāṣin
(for) escape ٣
وَعَجِبُوٓا۟waʿajibū
And they wonder أَنan
that جَآءَهُمjāahum
has come to them مُّنذِرٌۭmundhirun
a warner مِّنْهُمْ ۖmin'hum
from themselves وَقَالَwaqāla
And said ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَl-kāfirūna
the disbelievers هَـٰذَاhādhā
This سَـٰحِرٌۭsāḥirun
(is) a magician كَذَّابٌkadhābun
a liar ٤
And they wonder أَنan
that جَآءَهُمjāahum
has come to them مُّنذِرٌۭmundhirun
a warner مِّنْهُمْ ۖmin'hum
from themselves وَقَالَwaqāla
And said ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَl-kāfirūna
the disbelievers هَـٰذَاhādhā
This سَـٰحِرٌۭsāḥirun
(is) a magician كَذَّابٌkadhābun
a liar ٤
أَجَعَلَajaʿala
Has he made ٱلْـَٔالِهَةَl-ālihata
the gods إِلَـٰهًۭاilāhan
(into) one god وَٰحِدًا ۖwāḥidan
(into) one god إِنَّinna
Indeed هَـٰذَاhādhā
this لَشَىْءٌlashayon
(is) certainly a thing عُجَابٌۭʿujābun
curious ٥
Has he made ٱلْـَٔالِهَةَl-ālihata
the gods إِلَـٰهًۭاilāhan
(into) one god وَٰحِدًا ۖwāḥidan
(into) one god إِنَّinna
Indeed هَـٰذَاhādhā
this لَشَىْءٌlashayon
(is) certainly a thing عُجَابٌۭʿujābun
curious ٥
وَٱنطَلَقَwa-inṭalaqa
And went forth ٱلْمَلَأُl-mala-u
the chiefs مِنْهُمْmin'hum
among them أَنِani
that ٱمْشُوا۟im'shū
Continue وَٱصْبِرُوا۟wa-iṣ'birū
and be patient عَلَىٰٓʿalā
over ءَالِهَتِكُمْ ۖālihatikum
your gods إِنَّinna
Indeed هَـٰذَاhādhā
this لَشَىْءٌۭlashayon
(is) certainly a thing يُرَادُyurādu
intended ٦
And went forth ٱلْمَلَأُl-mala-u
the chiefs مِنْهُمْmin'hum
among them أَنِani
that ٱمْشُوا۟im'shū

Not هَـٰذَآhādhā
(is) this إِلَّاillā
but ٱخْتِلَـٰقٌikh'tilāqun
a fabrication ٧
Not سَمِعْنَاsamiʿ'nā
we heard بِهَـٰذَاbihādhā
of this فِىfī
in ٱلْمِلَّةِl-milati
the religion ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhirati
the last إِنْin
Not هَـٰذَآhādhā
(is) this إِلَّاillā
but ٱخْتِلَـٰقٌikh'tilāqun
a fabrication ٧
أَءُنزِلَa-unzila
Has been revealed عَلَيْهِʿalayhi
to him ٱلذِّكْرُl-dhik'ru
the Message مِنۢmin
from بَيْنِنَا ۚbayninā
among us بَلْbal
Nay هُمْhum
They فِىfī
(are) in شَكٍّۢshakkin
doubt مِّنmin
about ذِكْرِى ۖdhik'rī
My Message بَلbal
Nay لَّمَّاlammā
not yet يَذُوقُوا۟yadhūqū
they have tasted عَذَابِʿadhābi
My punishment ٨
Has been revealed عَلَيْهِʿalayhi
to him ٱلذِّكْرُl-dhik'ru
the Message مِنۢmin
from بَيْنِنَا ۚbayninā
among us بَلْbal
Nay هُمْhum
They فِىfī
(are) in شَكٍّۢshakkin
doubt مِّنmin
about ذِكْرِى ۖdhik'rī
My Message بَلbal
Nay لَّمَّاlammā
not yet يَذُوقُوا۟yadhūqū
they have tasted عَذَابِʿadhābi
My punishment ٨
أَمْam
Or عِندَهُمْʿindahum
have they خَزَآئِنُkhazāinu
(the) treasures رَحْمَةِraḥmati
(of the) Mercy رَبِّكَrabbika
(of) your Lord ٱلْعَزِيزِl-ʿazīzi
the All-Mighty ٱلْوَهَّابِl-wahābi
the Bestower ٩
Or عِندَهُمْʿindahum
have they خَزَآئِنُkhazāinu
(the) treasures رَحْمَةِraḥmati
(of the) Mercy رَبِّكَrabbika
(of) your Lord ٱلْعَزِيزِl-ʿazīzi
the All-Mighty ٱلْوَهَّابِl-wahābi
the Bestower ٩
١٠ص ٣٨:١٠
أَمْam
Or لَهُمlahum
for them مُّلْكُmul'ku
(is the) dominion ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti
(of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍi
and the earth وَمَاwamā
and whatever بَيْنَهُمَا ۖbaynahumā
(is) between them فَلْيَرْتَقُوا۟falyartaqū
Then let them ascend فِىfī
by ٱلْأَسْبَـٰبِl-asbābi
the means ١٠
Or لَهُمlahum
for them مُّلْكُmul'ku
(is the) dominion ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti
(of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍi
and the earth وَمَاwamā
and whatever بَيْنَهُمَا ۖbaynahumā

Soldiers مَّاmā
there هُنَالِكَhunālika
there مَهْزُومٌۭmahzūmun
(they will be) defeated مِّنَmina
among ٱلْأَحْزَابِl-aḥzābi
the companies ١١
Soldiers مَّاmā
there هُنَالِكَhunālika
there مَهْزُومٌۭmahzūmun
(they will be) defeated مِّنَmina
among ٱلْأَحْزَابِl-aḥzābi
the companies ١١
١٢ص ٣٨:١٢
كَذَّبَتْkadhabat
Denied قَبْلَهُمْqablahum
before them قَوْمُqawmu
(the) people نُوحٍۢnūḥin
(of) Nuh وَعَادٌۭwaʿādun
and Aad وَفِرْعَوْنُwafir'ʿawnu
and Firaun ذُوdhū
(the) owner ٱلْأَوْتَادِl-awtādi
(of) the stakes ١٢
Denied قَبْلَهُمْqablahum
before them قَوْمُqawmu
(the) people نُوحٍۢnūḥin
(of) Nuh وَعَادٌۭwaʿādun
and Aad وَفِرْعَوْنُwafir'ʿawnu
and Firaun ذُوdhū
(the) owner ٱلْأَوْتَادِl-awtādi
(of) the stakes ١٢
١٣ص ٣٨:١٣
وَثَمُودُwathamūdu
And Thamud وَقَوْمُwaqawmu
and (the) people لُوطٍۢlūṭin
(of) Lut وَأَصْحَـٰبُwa-aṣḥābu
and (the) companions لْـَٔيْكَةِ ۚal'aykati
(of) the wood أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāika
Those ٱلْأَحْزَابُl-aḥzābu
(were) the companies ١٣
And Thamud وَقَوْمُwaqawmu
and (the) people لُوطٍۢlūṭin
(of) Lut وَأَصْحَـٰبُwa-aṣḥābu
and (the) companions لْـَٔيْكَةِ ۚal'aykati
(of) the wood أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāika
Those ٱلْأَحْزَابُl-aḥzābu
(were) the companies ١٣
١٤ص ٣٨:١٤
إِنin
Not كُلٌّkullun
all (of them) إِلَّاillā
but كَذَّبَkadhaba
denied ٱلرُّسُلَl-rusula
the Messengers فَحَقَّfaḥaqqa
so (was) just عِقَابِʿiqābi
My penalty ١٤
Not كُلٌّkullun
all (of them) إِلَّاillā
but كَذَّبَkadhaba
denied ٱلرُّسُلَl-rusula
the Messengers فَحَقَّfaḥaqqa
so (was) just عِقَابِʿiqābi

وَمَاwamā
And not يَنظُرُyanẓuru
await هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِhāulāi
these إِلَّاillā
but صَيْحَةًۭṣayḥatan
a shout وَٰحِدَةًۭwāḥidatan
one مَّاmā
not لَهَاlahā
for it مِنmin
any فَوَاقٍۢfawāqin
delay ١٥
And not يَنظُرُyanẓuru
await هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِhāulāi
these إِلَّاillā
but صَيْحَةًۭṣayḥatan
a shout وَٰحِدَةًۭwāḥidatan
one مَّاmā
not لَهَاlahā
for it مِنmin
any فَوَاقٍۢfawāqin
delay ١٥
١٦ص ٣٨:١٦
وَقَالُوا۟waqālū
And they say رَبَّنَاrabbanā
Our Lord عَجِّلʿajjil
Hasten لَّنَاlanā
for us قِطَّنَاqiṭṭanā
our share قَبْلَqabla
before يَوْمِyawmi
(the) Day ٱلْحِسَابِl-ḥisābi
(of) the Account ١٦
And they say رَبَّنَاrabbanā
Our Lord عَجِّلʿajjil
Hasten لَّنَاlanā
for us قِطَّنَاqiṭṭanā
our share قَبْلَqabla
before يَوْمِyawmi
(the) Day ٱلْحِسَابِl-ḥisābi
(of) the Account ١٦
١٧ص ٣٨:١٧
ٱصْبِرْiṣ'bir
Be patient عَلَىٰʿalā
over مَاmā
what يَقُولُونَyaqūlūna
they say وَٱذْكُرْwa-udh'kur
and remember عَبْدَنَاʿabdanā
Our slave دَاوُۥدَdāwūda
Dawood ذَاdhā
the possessor of strength ٱلْأَيْدِ ۖl-aydi
the possessor of strength إِنَّهُۥٓinnahu
Indeed, he (was) أَوَّابٌawwābun
repeatedly turning ١٧
Be patient عَلَىٰʿalā
over مَاmā
what يَقُولُونَyaqūlūna
they say وَٱذْكُرْwa-udh'kur
and remember عَبْدَنَاʿabdanā
Our slave دَاوُۥدَdāwūda
Dawood ذَاdhā
the possessor of strength ٱلْأَيْدِ ۖl-aydi
the possessor of strength إِنَّهُۥٓinnahu
Indeed, he (was) أَوَّابٌawwābun
repeatedly turning ١٧
١٨ص ٣٨:١٨
إِنَّاinnā
Indeed, We سَخَّرْنَاsakharnā
subjected ٱلْجِبَالَl-jibāla
the mountains مَعَهُۥmaʿahu
with him يُسَبِّحْنَyusabbiḥ'na
glorifying بِٱلْعَشِىِّbil-ʿashiyi
in the evening وَٱلْإِشْرَاقِwal-ish'rāqi
and [the] sunrise ١٨
Indeed, We سَخَّرْنَاsakharnā
subjected ٱلْجِبَالَl-jibāla
the mountains مَعَهُۥmaʿahu
with him يُسَبِّحْنَyusabbiḥ'na
glorifying بِٱلْعَشِىِّbil-ʿashiyi
in the evening وَٱلْإِشْرَاقِwal-ish'rāqi
and [the] sunrise ١٨
١٩ص ٣٨:١٩
وَٱلطَّيْرَwal-ṭayra
And the birds مَحْشُورَةًۭ ۖmaḥshūratan
assembled كُلٌّۭkullun
all لَّهُۥٓlahu
with him أَوَّابٌۭawwābun
repeatedly turning ١٩
And the birds مَحْشُورَةًۭ ۖmaḥshūratan
assembled كُلٌّۭkullun
all لَّهُۥٓlahu
with him أَوَّابٌۭawwābun
repeatedly turning ١٩
٢٠ص ٣٨:٢٠
وَشَدَدْنَاwashadadnā
And We strengthened مُلْكَهُۥmul'kahu
his kingdom وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُwaātaynāhu
and We gave him ٱلْحِكْمَةَl-ḥik'mata
[the] wisdom وَفَصْلَwafaṣla
and decisive ٱلْخِطَابِl-khiṭābi
speech ٢٠
And We strengthened مُلْكَهُۥmul'kahu
his kingdom وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُwaātaynāhu
and We gave him ٱلْحِكْمَةَl-ḥik'mata
[the] wisdom وَفَصْلَwafaṣla
and decisive ٱلْخِطَابِl-khiṭābi
speech ٢٠
٢١ص ٣٨:٢١
۞ وَهَلْwahal
And has (there) أَتَىٰكَatāka
come to you نَبَؤُا۟naba-u
(the) news ٱلْخَصْمِl-khaṣmi
(of) the litigants إِذْidh
when تَسَوَّرُوا۟tasawwarū
they climbed over the wall ٱلْمِحْرَابَl-miḥ'rāba
(of) the chamber ٢١
And has (there) أَتَىٰكَatāka
come to you نَبَؤُا۟naba-u
(the) news ٱلْخَصْمِl-khaṣmi
(of) the litigants إِذْidh
when تَسَوَّرُوا۟tasawwarū
they climbed over the wall ٱلْمِحْرَابَl-miḥ'rāba
(of) the chamber ٢١
٢٢ص ٣٨:٢٢
إِذْidh
When دَخَلُوا۟dakhalū
they entered عَلَىٰʿalā
upon دَاوُۥدَdāwūda
Dawood فَفَزِعَfafaziʿa
and he was afraid مِنْهُمْ ۖmin'hum
of them قَالُوا۟qālū
they said لَاlā
(Do) not تَخَفْ ۖtakhaf
fear خَصْمَانِkhaṣmāni
(We are) two litigants بَغَىٰbaghā
has wronged بَعْضُنَاbaʿḍunā
one of us عَلَىٰʿalā
to بَعْضٍۢbaʿḍin
another فَٱحْكُمfa-uḥ'kum
so judge بَيْنَنَاbaynanā
between us بِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqi
in truth وَلَاwalā
and (do) not تُشْطِطْtush'ṭiṭ
be unjust وَٱهْدِنَآwa-ih'dinā
and guide us إِلَىٰilā
to سَوَآءِsawāi
an even ٱلصِّرَٰطِl-ṣirāṭi
[the] path ٢٢
When دَخَلُوا۟dakhalū
they entered عَلَىٰʿalā
upon دَاوُۥدَdāwūda
Dawood فَفَزِعَfafaziʿa
and he was afraid مِنْهُمْ ۖmin'hum
of them قَالُوا۟qālū
they said لَاlā
(Do) not تَخَفْ ۖtakhaf
fear خَصْمَانِkhaṣmāni
(We are) two litigants بَغَىٰbaghā
has wronged بَعْضُنَاbaʿḍunā
one of us عَلَىٰʿalā
to بَعْضٍۢbaʿḍin
another فَٱحْكُمfa-uḥ'kum
so judge بَيْنَنَاbaynanā
between us بِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqi
in truth وَلَاwalā
and (do) not تُشْطِطْtush'ṭiṭ
be unjust وَٱهْدِنَآwa-ih'dinā
and guide us إِلَىٰilā
to سَوَآءِsawāi
an even ٱلصِّرَٰطِl-ṣirāṭi
[the] path ٢٢
٢٣ص ٣٨:٢٣
إِنَّinna
Indeed هَـٰذَآhādhā
this أَخِىakhī
(is) my brother لَهُۥlahu
he has تِسْعٌۭtis'ʿun
ninety-nine وَتِسْعُونَwatis'ʿūna
ninety-nine نَعْجَةًۭnaʿjatan
ewe(s) وَلِىَwaliya
while I have نَعْجَةٌۭnaʿjatun
ewe وَٰحِدَةٌۭwāḥidatun
one فَقَالَfaqāla
so he said أَكْفِلْنِيهَاakfil'nīhā
Entrust her to me وَعَزَّنِىwaʿazzanī
and he overpowered me فِىfī
in ٱلْخِطَابِl-khiṭābi
[the] speech ٢٣
Indeed هَـٰذَآhādhā
this أَخِىakhī
(is) my brother لَهُۥlahu
he has تِسْعٌۭtis'ʿun
ninety-nine وَتِسْعُونَwatis'ʿūna
ninety-nine نَعْجَةًۭnaʿjatan
ewe(s) وَلِىَwaliya
while I have نَعْجَةٌۭnaʿjatun
ewe وَٰحِدَةٌۭwāḥidatun
one فَقَالَfaqāla
so he said أَكْفِلْنِيهَاakfil'nīhā
Entrust her to me وَعَزَّنِىwaʿazzanī
and he overpowered me فِىfī
in ٱلْخِطَابِl-khiṭābi
[the] speech ٢٣
٢٤ص ٣٨:٢٤
قَالَqāla
He said لَقَدْlaqad
Certainly ظَلَمَكَẓalamaka
he has wronged you بِسُؤَالِbisuāli
by demanding نَعْجَتِكَnaʿjatika
your ewe إِلَىٰilā
to نِعَاجِهِۦ ۖniʿājihi
his ewes وَإِنَّwa-inna
And indeed كَثِيرًۭاkathīran
many مِّنَmina
of ٱلْخُلَطَآءِl-khulaṭāi
the partners لَيَبْغِىlayabghī
certainly oppress بَعْضُهُمْbaʿḍuhum
some of them عَلَىٰʿalā
[on] بَعْضٍbaʿḍin
another إِلَّاillā
except ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna
those who ءَامَنُوا۟āmanū
believe وَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilū
and do ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds وَقَلِيلٌۭwaqalīlun
and few مَّاmā
(are) they هُمْ ۗhum
(are) they وَظَنَّwaẓanna
And became certain دَاوُۥدُdāwūdu
Dawood أَنَّمَاannamā
that فَتَنَّـٰهُfatannāhu
We (had) tried him فَٱسْتَغْفَرَfa-is'taghfara
and he asked forgiveness رَبَّهُۥrabbahu
(of) his Lord وَخَرَّwakharra
and fell down رَاكِعًۭاrākiʿan
bowing وَأَنَابَ ۩wa-anāba
and turned in repentance ٢٤
He said لَقَدْlaqad
Certainly ظَلَمَكَẓalamaka
he has wronged you بِسُؤَالِbisuāli
by demanding نَعْجَتِكَnaʿjatika
your ewe إِلَىٰilā
to نِعَاجِهِۦ ۖniʿājihi
his ewes وَإِنَّwa-inna
And indeed كَثِيرًۭاkathīran
many مِّنَmina
of ٱلْخُلَطَآءِl-khulaṭāi
the partners لَيَبْغِىlayabghī
certainly oppress بَعْضُهُمْbaʿḍuhum
some of them عَلَىٰʿalā
[on] بَعْضٍbaʿḍin
another إِلَّاillā
except ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna
those who ءَامَنُوا۟āmanū
believe وَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilū
and do ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds وَقَلِيلٌۭwaqalīlun
and few مَّاmā
(are) they هُمْ ۗhum
(are) they وَظَنَّwaẓanna
And became certain دَاوُۥدُdāwūdu
Dawood أَنَّمَاannamā
that فَتَنَّـٰهُfatannāhu
We (had) tried him فَٱسْتَغْفَرَfa-is'taghfara
and he asked forgiveness رَبَّهُۥrabbahu
(of) his Lord وَخَرَّwakharra
and fell down رَاكِعًۭاrākiʿan
bowing وَأَنَابَ ۩wa-anāba
and turned in repentance ٢٤
٢٥ص ٣٨:٢٥
فَغَفَرْنَاfaghafarnā
So We forgave لَهُۥlahu
for him ذَٰلِكَ ۖdhālika
that وَإِنَّwa-inna
And indeed لَهُۥlahu
for him عِندَنَاʿindanā
with Us لَزُلْفَىٰlazul'fā
surely is a near access وَحُسْنَwaḥus'na
and a good مَـَٔابٍۢmaābin
place of return ٢٥
So We forgave لَهُۥlahu
for him ذَٰلِكَ ۖdhālika
that وَإِنَّwa-inna
And indeed لَهُۥlahu
for him عِندَنَاʿindanā
with Us لَزُلْفَىٰlazul'fā
surely is a near access وَحُسْنَwaḥus'na
and a good مَـَٔابٍۢmaābin
place of return ٢٥
٢٦ص ٣٨:٢٦
يَـٰدَاوُۥدُyādāwūdu
O Dawood إِنَّاinnā
Indeed, We جَعَلْنَـٰكَjaʿalnāka
[We] have made you خَلِيفَةًۭkhalīfatan
a vicegerent فِىfī
in ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍi
the earth فَٱحْكُمfa-uḥ'kum
so judge بَيْنَbayna
between ٱلنَّاسِl-nāsi
[the] men بِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqi
in truth وَلَاwalā
and (do) not تَتَّبِعِtattabiʿi
follow ٱلْهَوَىٰl-hawā
the desire فَيُضِلَّكَfayuḍillaka
for it will lead you astray عَنʿan
from سَبِيلِsabīli
(the) way ٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahi
(of) Allah إِنَّinna
Indeed ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna
those who يَضِلُّونَyaḍillūna
go astray عَنʿan
from سَبِيلِsabīli
(the) way ٱللَّهِl-lahi
(of) Allah لَهُمْlahum
for them عَذَابٌۭʿadhābun
(is) a punishment شَدِيدٌۢshadīdun
severe بِمَاbimā
because نَسُوا۟nasū
they forgot يَوْمَyawma
(the) Day ٱلْحِسَابِl-ḥisābi
(of) Account ٢٦
O Dawood إِنَّاinnā
Indeed, We جَعَلْنَـٰكَjaʿalnāka
[We] have made you خَلِيفَةًۭkhalīfatan

in ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍi
the earth فَٱحْكُمfa-uḥ'kum

between ٱلنَّاسِl-nāsi

for them عَذَابٌۭʿadhābun

(of) Account ٢٦
٢٧ص ٣٨:٢٧
وَمَاwamā
And not خَلَقْنَاkhalaqnā
We created ٱلسَّمَآءَl-samāa
the heaven وَٱلْأَرْضَwal-arḍa
and the earth وَمَاwamā
and whatever بَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumā
(is) between them بَـٰطِلًۭا ۚbāṭilan
without purpose ذَٰلِكَdhālika
That ظَنُّẓannu
(is the) assumption ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna
(of) those who كَفَرُوا۟ ۚkafarū
disbelieve فَوَيْلٌۭfawaylun
So woe لِّلَّذِينَlilladhīna
to those كَفَرُوا۟kafarū
who disbelieve مِنَmina
from ٱلنَّارِl-nāri
the Fire ٢٧
And not خَلَقْنَاkhalaqnā
We created ٱلسَّمَآءَl-samāa
the heaven وَٱلْأَرْضَwal-arḍa
and the earth وَمَاwamā
and whatever بَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumā
(is) between them بَـٰطِلًۭا ۚbāṭilan
without purpose ذَٰلِكَdhālika
That ظَنُّẓannu
(is the) assumption ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna
(of) those who كَفَرُوا۟ ۚkafarū
disbelieve فَوَيْلٌۭfawaylun
So woe لِّلَّذِينَlilladhīna
to those كَفَرُوا۟kafarū
who disbelieve مِنَmina
from ٱلنَّارِl-nāri
the Fire ٢٧
٢٨ص ٣٨:٢٨
أَمْam
Or نَجْعَلُnajʿalu
should We treat ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna
those who ءَامَنُوا۟āmanū
believe وَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilū
and do ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds كَٱلْمُفْسِدِينَkal-muf'sidīna
like those who spread corruption فِىfī
in ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍi
the earth أَمْam
Or نَجْعَلُnajʿalu
should We treat ٱلْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīna
the pious كَٱلْفُجَّارِkal-fujāri
like the wicked ٢٨
Or نَجْعَلُnajʿalu
should We treat ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna
those who ءَامَنُوا۟āmanū
believe وَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilū
and do ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds كَٱلْمُفْسِدِينَkal-muf'sidīna
like those who spread corruption فِىfī
in ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍi
the earth أَمْam
Or نَجْعَلُnajʿalu
should We treat ٱلْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīna
the pious كَٱلْفُجَّارِkal-fujāri
like the wicked ٢٨
٢٩ص ٣٨:٢٩
كِتَـٰبٌkitābun
(This is) a Book أَنزَلْنَـٰهُanzalnāhu
We have revealed it إِلَيْكَilayka
to you مُبَـٰرَكٌۭmubārakun
blessed لِّيَدَّبَّرُوٓا۟liyaddabbarū
that they may ponder ءَايَـٰتِهِۦāyātihi
(over) its Verses وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَwaliyatadhakkara
and may be reminded أُو۟لُوا۟ulū
those of understanding ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِl-albābi
those of understanding ٢٩
(This is) a Book أَنزَلْنَـٰهُanzalnāhu
We have revealed it إِلَيْكَilayka
to you مُبَـٰرَكٌۭmubārakun
blessed لِّيَدَّبَّرُوٓا۟liyaddabbarū
that they may ponder ءَايَـٰتِهِۦāyātihi
(over) its Verses وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَwaliyatadhakkara
and may be reminded أُو۟لُوا۟ulū
those of understanding ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِl-albābi
those of understanding ٢٩
٣٠ص ٣٨:٣٠
وَوَهَبْنَاwawahabnā
And We gave لِدَاوُۥدَlidāwūda
to Dawood سُلَيْمَـٰنَ ۚsulaymāna
Sulaiman نِعْمَniʿ'ma
an excellent ٱلْعَبْدُ ۖl-ʿabdu
slave إِنَّهُۥٓinnahu
Indeed, he أَوَّابٌawwābun
(was) one who repeatedly turned ٣٠
And We gave لِدَاوُۥدَlidāwūda
to Dawood سُلَيْمَـٰنَ ۚsulaymāna
Sulaiman نِعْمَniʿ'ma
an excellent ٱلْعَبْدُ ۖl-ʿabdu
slave إِنَّهُۥٓinnahu
Indeed, he أَوَّابٌawwābun
(was) one who repeatedly turned ٣٠
٣١ص ٣٨:٣١
إِذْidh
When عُرِضَʿuriḍa
were displayed عَلَيْهِʿalayhi
to him بِٱلْعَشِىِّbil-ʿashiyi
in the afternoon ٱلصَّـٰفِنَـٰتُl-ṣāfinātu
excellent bred steeds ٱلْجِيَادُl-jiyādu
excellent bred steeds ٣١
When عُرِضَʿuriḍa
were displayed عَلَيْهِʿalayhi
to him بِٱلْعَشِىِّbil-ʿashiyi
in the afternoon ٱلصَّـٰفِنَـٰتُl-ṣāfinātu
excellent bred steeds ٱلْجِيَادُl-jiyādu
excellent bred steeds ٣١
٣٢ص ٣٨:٣٢
فَقَالَfaqāla
And he said إِنِّىٓinnī
Indeed, I أَحْبَبْتُaḥbabtu
[I] preferred حُبَّḥubba
(the) love ٱلْخَيْرِl-khayri
(of) the good عَنʿan
over ذِكْرِdhik'ri
(the) remembrance رَبِّىrabbī
(of) my Lord حَتَّىٰḥattā
Until تَوَارَتْtawārat
they were hidden بِٱلْحِجَابِbil-ḥijābi
in the veil ٣٢
And he said إِنِّىٓinnī
Indeed, I أَحْبَبْتُaḥbabtu
[I] preferred حُبَّḥubba
(the) love ٱلْخَيْرِl-khayri
(of) the good عَنʿan
over ذِكْرِdhik'ri
(the) remembrance رَبِّىrabbī
(of) my Lord حَتَّىٰḥattā
Until تَوَارَتْtawārat
they were hidden بِٱلْحِجَابِbil-ḥijābi
in the veil ٣٢
٣٣ص ٣٨:٣٣
رُدُّوهَاruddūhā
Return them عَلَىَّ ۖʿalayya
to me فَطَفِقَfaṭafiqa
Then he began مَسْحًۢاmasḥan
(to) pass (his hand) بِٱلسُّوقِbil-sūqi
over the legs وَٱلْأَعْنَاقِwal-aʿnāqi
and the necks ٣٣
Return them عَلَىَّ ۖʿalayya
to me فَطَفِقَfaṭafiqa
Then he began مَسْحًۢاmasḥan
(to) pass (his hand) بِٱلسُّوقِbil-sūqi
over the legs وَٱلْأَعْنَاقِwal-aʿnāqi
and the necks ٣٣
٣٤ص ٣٨:٣٤
وَلَقَدْwalaqad

Sulaiman وَأَلْقَيْنَاwa-alqaynā

Sulaiman وَأَلْقَيْنَاwa-alqaynā
and We placed عَلَىٰʿalā
on كُرْسِيِّهِۦkur'siyyihi
his throne جَسَدًۭاjasadan
a body ثُمَّthumma
then أَنَابَanāba
he turned ٣٤
٣٥ص ٣٨:٣٥
قَالَqāla
He said رَبِّrabbi
O my Lord ٱغْفِرْigh'fir
Forgive لِىlī
me وَهَبْwahab
and grant لِىlī
me مُلْكًۭاmul'kan
a kingdom لَّاlā
not يَنۢبَغِىyanbaghī
(will) belong لِأَحَدٍۢli-aḥadin
to anyone مِّنۢmin
after me بَعْدِىٓ ۖbaʿdī
after me إِنَّكَinnaka
Indeed, You أَنتَanta
[You] ٱلْوَهَّابُl-wahābu
(are) the Bestower ٣٥
He said رَبِّrabbi
O my Lord ٱغْفِرْigh'fir
Forgive لِىlī
me وَهَبْwahab
and grant لِىlī
me مُلْكًۭاmul'kan
a kingdom لَّاlā
not يَنۢبَغِىyanbaghī
(will) belong لِأَحَدٍۢli-aḥadin
to anyone مِّنۢmin
after me بَعْدِىٓ ۖbaʿdī
after me إِنَّكَinnaka
Indeed, You أَنتَanta
[You] ٱلْوَهَّابُl-wahābu
(are) the Bestower ٣٥
٣٦ص ٣٨:٣٦
فَسَخَّرْنَاfasakharnā
Then We subjected لَهُlahu
to him ٱلرِّيحَl-rīḥa
the wind تَجْرِىtajrī
to flow بِأَمْرِهِۦbi-amrihi
by his command رُخَآءًrukhāan
gently حَيْثُḥaythu
wherever أَصَابَaṣāba
he directed ٣٦
Then We subjected لَهُlahu
to him ٱلرِّيحَl-rīḥa
the wind تَجْرِىtajrī
to flow بِأَمْرِهِۦbi-amrihi
by his command رُخَآءًrukhāan
gently حَيْثُḥaythu
wherever أَصَابَaṣāba
he directed ٣٦
٣٧ص ٣٨:٣٧
وَٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَwal-shayāṭīna
And the devils كُلَّkulla
every بَنَّآءٍۢbannāin
builder وَغَوَّاصٍۢwaghawwāṣin
and diver ٣٧
And the devils كُلَّkulla
every بَنَّآءٍۢbannāin
builder وَغَوَّاصٍۢwaghawwāṣin
and diver ٣٧
٣٨ص ٣٨:٣٨
وَءَاخَرِينَwaākharīna
And others مُقَرَّنِينَmuqarranīna
bound فِىfī
in ٱلْأَصْفَادِl-aṣfādi
chains ٣٨
And others مُقَرَّنِينَmuqarranīna
bound فِىfī
in ٱلْأَصْفَادِl-aṣfādi
chains ٣٨
٣٩ص ٣٨:٣٩
هَـٰذَاhādhā
This عَطَآؤُنَاʿaṭāunā
(is) Our gift فَٱمْنُنْfa-um'nun
so grant أَوْaw
or أَمْسِكْamsik
withhold بِغَيْرِbighayri
without حِسَابٍۢḥisābin
account ٣٩
This عَطَآؤُنَاʿaṭāunā
(is) Our gift فَٱمْنُنْfa-um'nun
so grant أَوْaw
or أَمْسِكْamsik
withhold بِغَيْرِbighayri
without حِسَابٍۢḥisābin
account ٣٩
٤٠ص ٣٨:٤٠
وَإِنَّwa-inna
And indeed لَهُۥlahu
for him عِندَنَاʿindanā
with Us لَزُلْفَىٰlazul'fā
surely is a near access وَحُسْنَwaḥus'na
and a good مَـَٔابٍۢmaābin
place of return ٤٠
And indeed لَهُۥlahu
for him عِندَنَاʿindanā

٤١ص ٣٨:٤١
وَٱذْكُرْwa-udh'kur
And remember عَبْدَنَآʿabdanā
Our slave أَيُّوبَayyūba
Ayyub إِذْidh
when نَادَىٰnādā
he called رَبَّهُۥٓrabbahu
his Lord أَنِّىannī
That [I] مَسَّنِىَmassaniya
(has) touched me ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُl-shayṭānu
Shaitaan بِنُصْبٍۢbinuṣ'bin
with distress وَعَذَابٍwaʿadhābin
and suffering ٤١
And remember عَبْدَنَآʿabdanā
Our slave أَيُّوبَayyūba
Ayyub إِذْidh
when نَادَىٰnādā
he called رَبَّهُۥٓrabbahu
his Lord أَنِّىannī
That [I] مَسَّنِىَmassaniya
(has) touched me ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُl-shayṭānu
Shaitaan بِنُصْبٍۢbinuṣ'bin
with distress وَعَذَابٍwaʿadhābin
and suffering ٤١
٤٢ص ٣٨:٤٢
ٱرْكُضْur'kuḍ
Strike بِرِجْلِكَ ۖbirij'lika
with your foot هَـٰذَاhādhā
This مُغْتَسَلٌۢmugh'tasalun
(is a spring of) water to bathe بَارِدٌۭbāridun
cool وَشَرَابٌۭwasharābun
and a drink ٤٢
Strike بِرِجْلِكَ ۖbirij'lika
with your foot هَـٰذَاhādhā
This مُغْتَسَلٌۢmugh'tasalun
(is a spring of) water to bathe بَارِدٌۭbāridun
cool وَشَرَابٌۭwasharābun
and a drink ٤٢
٤٣ص ٣٨:٤٣
وَوَهَبْنَاwawahabnā
And We granted لَهُۥٓlahu
[to] him أَهْلَهُۥahlahu
his family وَمِثْلَهُمwamith'lahum
and a like of them مَّعَهُمْmaʿahum
with them رَحْمَةًۭraḥmatan
a Mercy مِّنَّاminnā
from Us وَذِكْرَىٰwadhik'rā
and a Reminder لِأُو۟لِىli-ulī
for those of understanding ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِl-albābi
for those of understanding ٤٣
And We granted لَهُۥٓlahu
[to] him أَهْلَهُۥahlahu
his family وَمِثْلَهُمwamith'lahum
and a like of them مَّعَهُمْmaʿahum
with them رَحْمَةًۭraḥmatan
a Mercy مِّنَّاminnā
from Us وَذِكْرَىٰwadhik'rā
and a Reminder لِأُو۟لِىli-ulī
for those of understanding ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِl-albābi
for those of understanding ٤٣
٤٤ص ٣٨:٤٤
وَخُذْwakhudh
And take بِيَدِكَbiyadika
in your hand ضِغْثًۭاḍigh'than
a bunch فَٱضْرِبfa-iḍ'rib
and strike بِّهِۦbihi
with it وَلَاwalā
and (do) not تَحْنَثْ ۗtaḥnath
break (your) oath إِنَّاinnā
Indeed, We وَجَدْنَـٰهُwajadnāhu
[We] found him صَابِرًۭا ۚṣābiran
patient نِّعْمَniʿ'ma
an excellent ٱلْعَبْدُ ۖl-ʿabdu
slave إِنَّهُۥٓinnahu
Indeed, he أَوَّابٌۭawwābun
repeatedly turned ٤٤
And take بِيَدِكَbiyadika
in your hand ضِغْثًۭاḍigh'than
a bunch فَٱضْرِبfa-iḍ'rib
and strike بِّهِۦbihi
with it وَلَاwalā
and (do) not تَحْنَثْ ۗtaḥnath
break (your) oath إِنَّاinnā
Indeed, We وَجَدْنَـٰهُwajadnāhu
[We] found him صَابِرًۭا ۚṣābiran
patient نِّعْمَniʿ'ma
an excellent ٱلْعَبْدُ ۖl-ʿabdu
slave إِنَّهُۥٓinnahu
Indeed, he أَوَّابٌۭawwābun
repeatedly turned ٤٤
٤٥ص ٣٨:٤٥
وَٱذْكُرْwa-udh'kur
And remember عِبَـٰدَنَآʿibādanā
Our slaves إِبْرَٰهِيمَib'rāhīma
Ibrahim وَإِسْحَـٰقَwa-is'ḥāqa
and Isaac وَيَعْقُوبَwayaʿqūba
and Ayyub أُو۟لِىulī
possessors ٱلْأَيْدِىl-aydī
(of) strength وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرِwal-abṣāri
and vision ٤٥
And remember عِبَـٰدَنَآʿibādanā
Our slaves إِبْرَٰهِيمَib'rāhīma
Ibrahim وَإِسْحَـٰقَwa-is'ḥāqa
and Isaac وَيَعْقُوبَwayaʿqūba
and Ayyub أُو۟لِىulī
possessors ٱلْأَيْدِىl-aydī
(of) strength وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرِwal-abṣāri
and vision ٤٥
٤٦ص ٣٨:٤٦
إِنَّآinnā
Indeed, We أَخْلَصْنَـٰهُمakhlaṣnāhum
[We] chose them بِخَالِصَةٍۢbikhāliṣatin
for an exclusive (quality) ذِكْرَىdhik'rā
remembrance ٱلدَّارِl-dāri
(of) the Home ٤٦
Indeed, We أَخْلَصْنَـٰهُمakhlaṣnāhum
[We] chose them بِخَالِصَةٍۢbikhāliṣatin
for an exclusive (quality) ذِكْرَىdhik'rā
remembrance ٱلدَّارِl-dāri
(of) the Home ٤٦
٤٧ص ٣٨:٤٧
وَإِنَّهُمْwa-innahum
And indeed, they عِندَنَاʿindanā
to Us لَمِنَlamina
(are) from ٱلْمُصْطَفَيْنَl-muṣ'ṭafayna
the chosen ones ٱلْأَخْيَارِl-akhyāri
the best ٤٧
And indeed, they عِندَنَاʿindanā
to Us لَمِنَlamina
(are) from ٱلْمُصْطَفَيْنَl-muṣ'ṭafayna
the chosen ones ٱلْأَخْيَارِl-akhyāri
the best ٤٧
٤٨ص ٣٨:٤٨
وَٱذْكُرْwa-udh'kur
And remember إِسْمَـٰعِيلَis'māʿīla
Ishmael وَٱلْيَسَعَwal-yasaʿa
and Elisha وَذَاwadhā
and Dhul-kifl ٱلْكِفْلِ ۖl-kif'li
and Dhul-kifl وَكُلٌّۭwakullun
and all مِّنَmina
(are) from ٱلْأَخْيَارِl-akhyāri
the best ٤٨
And remember إِسْمَـٰعِيلَis'māʿīla
Ishmael وَٱلْيَسَعَwal-yasaʿa
and Elisha وَذَاwadhā
and Dhul-kifl ٱلْكِفْلِ ۖl-kif'li
and Dhul-kifl وَكُلٌّۭwakullun
and all مِّنَmina
(are) from ٱلْأَخْيَارِl-akhyāri
the best ٤٨
٤٩ص ٣٨:٤٩
هَـٰذَاhādhā
This ذِكْرٌۭ ۚdhik'run
(is) a Reminder وَإِنَّwa-inna
And indeed لِلْمُتَّقِينَlil'muttaqīna
for the righteous لَحُسْنَlaḥus'na
surely, is a good مَـَٔابٍۢmaābin
place of return ٤٩
This ذِكْرٌۭ ۚdhik'run
(is) a Reminder وَإِنَّwa-inna
And indeed لِلْمُتَّقِينَlil'muttaqīna
for the righteous لَحُسْنَlaḥus'na
surely, is a good مَـَٔابٍۢmaābin
place of return ٤٩
٥٠ص ٣٨:٥٠
جَنَّـٰتِjannāti
Gardens عَدْنٍۢʿadnin
(of) Eternity مُّفَتَّحَةًۭmufattaḥatan
(will be) opened لَّهُمُlahumu
for them ٱلْأَبْوَٰبُl-abwābu
the gates ٥٠
Gardens عَدْنٍۢʿadnin
(of) Eternity مُّفَتَّحَةًۭmufattaḥatan
(will be) opened لَّهُمُlahumu
for them ٱلْأَبْوَٰبُl-abwābu
the gates ٥٠
٥١ص ٣٨:٥١
مُتَّكِـِٔينَmuttakiīna
Reclining فِيهَاfīhā
therein يَدْعُونَyadʿūna
they will call فِيهَاfīhā
therein بِفَـٰكِهَةٍۢbifākihatin
for fruit كَثِيرَةٍۢkathīratin
many وَشَرَابٍۢwasharābin
and drink ٥١
Reclining فِيهَاfīhā
therein يَدْعُونَyadʿūna
they will call فِيهَاfīhā
therein بِفَـٰكِهَةٍۢbifākihatin
for fruit كَثِيرَةٍۢkathīratin
many وَشَرَابٍۢwasharābin
and drink ٥١
٥٢ص ٣٨:٥٢
۞ وَعِندَهُمْwaʿindahum
And with them قَـٰصِرَٰتُqāṣirātu
(will be) companions of modest gaze ٱلطَّرْفِl-ṭarfi
(will be) companions of modest gaze أَتْرَابٌatrābun
well-matched ٥٢
And with them قَـٰصِرَٰتُqāṣirātu
(will be) companions of modest gaze ٱلطَّرْفِl-ṭarfi
(will be) companions of modest gaze أَتْرَابٌatrābun
well-matched ٥٢
٥٣ص ٣٨:٥٣
هَـٰذَاhādhā
This مَاmā
(is) what تُوعَدُونَtūʿadūna
you are promised لِيَوْمِliyawmi
for (the) Day ٱلْحِسَابِl-ḥisābi
(of) Account ٥٣
This مَاmā

٥٤ص ٣٨:٥٤
إِنَّinna
Indeed هَـٰذَاhādhā
this لَرِزْقُنَاlariz'qunā
(is) surely Our provision مَاmā
not لَهُۥlahu
for it مِنmin
any نَّفَادٍnafādin
depletion ٥٤
Indeed هَـٰذَاhādhā
this لَرِزْقُنَاlariz'qunā

٥٥ص ٣٨:٥٥
هَـٰذَا ۚhādhā
This (is so) وَإِنَّwa-inna
And indeed لِلطَّـٰغِينَlilṭṭāghīna
for the transgressors لَشَرَّlasharra
surely (is) an evil مَـَٔابٍۢmaābin
place of return ٥٥
This (is so) وَإِنَّwa-inna
And indeed لِلطَّـٰغِينَlilṭṭāghīna

٥٦ص ٣٨:٥٦
جَهَنَّمَjahannama
Hell يَصْلَوْنَهَاyaṣlawnahā
they will burn therein فَبِئْسَfabi'sa
and wretched (is) ٱلْمِهَادُl-mihādu
the resting place ٥٦
Hell يَصْلَوْنَهَاyaṣlawnahā

٥٧ص ٣٨:٥٧
هَـٰذَاhādhā
This (is so) فَلْيَذُوقُوهُfalyadhūqūhu
Then let them taste it حَمِيمٌۭḥamīmun
boiling fluid وَغَسَّاقٌۭwaghassāqun
and purulence ٥٧
This (is so) فَلْيَذُوقُوهُfalyadhūqūhu
Then let them taste it حَمِيمٌۭḥamīmun

وَءَاخَرُwaākharu
And other مِنmin
of شَكْلِهِۦٓshaklihi
its type أَزْوَٰجٌazwājun
(of various) kinds ٥٨
And other مِنmin
of شَكْلِهِۦٓshaklihi
its type أَزْوَٰجٌazwājun
(of various) kinds ٥٨
٥٩ص ٣٨:٥٩
هَـٰذَاhādhā
This فَوْجٌۭfawjun
(is) a company مُّقْتَحِمٌۭmuq'taḥimun
bursting مَّعَكُمْ ۖmaʿakum
(in) with you لَاlā
No مَرْحَبًۢاmarḥaban
welcome بِهِمْ ۚbihim
for them إِنَّهُمْinnahum
Indeed, they صَالُوا۟ṣālū
(will) burn ٱلنَّارِl-nāri
(in) the Fire ٥٩
This فَوْجٌۭfawjun
(is) a company مُّقْتَحِمٌۭmuq'taḥimun

They say بَلْbal
Nay أَنتُمْantum

You قَدَّمْتُمُوهُqaddamtumūhu
brought this لَنَا ۖlanā
upon us فَبِئْسَfabi'sa
So wretched (is) ٱلْقَرَارُl-qarāru

They say بَلْbal
Nay أَنتُمْantum
You لَاlā
no مَرْحَبًۢاmarḥaban
welcome بِكُمْ ۖbikum

upon us فَبِئْسَfabi'sa

قَالُوا۟qālū
They will say رَبَّنَاrabbanā
Our Lord مَنman
whoever قَدَّمَqaddama

upon us هَـٰذَاhādhā

increase for him عَذَابًۭاʿadhāban
a punishment ضِعْفًۭاḍiʿ'fan
double فِىfī

وَقَالُوا۟waqālū
And they (will) say مَاmā

not نَرَىٰnarā
we see رِجَالًۭاrijālan
men كُنَّاkunnā
we used to نَعُدُّهُمnaʿudduhum
count them مِّنَmina
among ٱلْأَشْرَارِl-ashrāri
the bad ones ٦٢
And they (will) say مَاmā
What (is) لَنَاlanā
for us لَاlā
not نَرَىٰnarā
we see رِجَالًۭاrijālan
men كُنَّاkunnā
we used to نَعُدُّهُمnaʿudduhum
count them مِّنَmina
among ٱلْأَشْرَارِl-ashrāri
the bad ones ٦٢
٦٣ص ٣٨:٦٣
أَتَّخَذْنَـٰهُمْattakhadhnāhum
Did we take them سِخْرِيًّاsikh'riyyan
(in) ridicule أَمْam
or زَاغَتْzāghat
has turned away عَنْهُمُʿanhumu
from them ٱلْأَبْصَـٰرُl-abṣāru
the vision ٦٣
Did we take them سِخْرِيًّاsikh'riyyan
(in) ridicule أَمْam
or زَاغَتْzāghat
has turned away عَنْهُمُʿanhumu
from them ٱلْأَبْصَـٰرُl-abṣāru

٦٤ص ٣٨:٦٤
إِنَّinna
Indeed ذَٰلِكَdhālika
that لَحَقٌّۭlaḥaqqun
(is) surely (the) truth تَخَاصُمُtakhāṣumu
(the) quarreling أَهْلِahli
(of the) people ٱلنَّارِl-nāri
(of) the Fire ٦٤
Indeed ذَٰلِكَdhālika
that لَحَقٌّۭlaḥaqqun
(is) surely (the) truth تَخَاصُمُtakhāṣumu
(the) quarreling أَهْلِahli
(of the) people ٱلنَّارِl-nāri

٦٥ص ٣٨:٦٥
قُلْqul
Say إِنَّمَآinnamā
Only أَنَا۠anā
I am مُنذِرٌۭ ۖmundhirun
a warner وَمَاwamā
and not مِنْmin
(is there) any إِلَـٰهٍilāhin
god إِلَّاillā
except ٱللَّهُl-lahu
Allah ٱلْوَٰحِدُl-wāḥidu
the One ٱلْقَهَّارُl-qahāru
the Irresistible ٦٥
Say إِنَّمَآinnamā
Only أَنَا۠anā
I am مُنذِرٌۭ ۖmundhirun
a warner وَمَاwamā
and not مِنْmin
(is there) any إِلَـٰهٍilāhin
god إِلَّاillā
except ٱللَّهُl-lahu

رَبُّrabbu
Lord ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti
(of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍi
and the earth وَمَاwamā
and whatever بَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumā
(is) between them ٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu
the All-Mighty ٱلْغَفَّـٰرُl-ghafāru
the Oft-Forgiving ٦٦
Lord ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti
(of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍi
and the earth وَمَاwamā
and whatever بَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumā
(is) between them ٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu
the All-Mighty ٱلْغَفَّـٰرُl-ghafāru
the Oft-Forgiving ٦٦
٦٧ص ٣٨:٦٧
قُلْqul
Say هُوَhuwa
It (is) نَبَؤٌا۟naba-on
a news عَظِيمٌʿaẓīmun
great ٦٧

٦٨ص ٣٨:٦٨
أَنتُمْantum
You عَنْهُʿanhu
from it مُعْرِضُونَmuʿ'riḍūna
turn away ٦٨

٦٩ص ٣٨:٦٩
مَاmā
Not كَانَkāna
is لِىَliya
for me مِنْmin
any عِلْمٍۭʿil'min
knowledge بِٱلْمَلَإِbil-mala-i
(of) the chiefs ٱلْأَعْلَىٰٓl-aʿlā
the exalted إِذْidh
when يَخْتَصِمُونَyakhtaṣimūna
they were disputing ٦٩
Not كَانَkāna
is لِىَliya
for me مِنْmin
any عِلْمٍۭʿil'min
knowledge بِٱلْمَلَإِbil-mala-i
(of) the chiefs ٱلْأَعْلَىٰٓl-aʿlā
the exalted إِذْidh
when يَخْتَصِمُونَyakhtaṣimūna

إِنin
Not يُوحَىٰٓyūḥā
has been revealed إِلَىَّilayya
to me إِلَّآillā
except أَنَّمَآannamā
that only أَنَا۠anā
I am نَذِيرٌۭnadhīrun
a warner مُّبِينٌmubīnun
clear ٧٠
Not يُوحَىٰٓyūḥā
has been revealed إِلَىَّilayya
to me إِلَّآillā

٧١ص ٣٨:٧١
إِذْidh
When قَالَqāla
said رَبُّكَrabbuka
your Lord لِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِlil'malāikati
to the Angels إِنِّىinnī
Indeed, I Am خَـٰلِقٌۢkhāliqun
going to create بَشَرًۭاbasharan
a human being مِّنmin
from طِينٍۢṭīnin
clay ٧١
When قَالَqāla
said رَبُّكَrabbuka
your Lord لِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِlil'malāikati
to the Angels إِنِّىinnī
Indeed, I Am خَـٰلِقٌۢkhāliqun
going to create بَشَرًۭاbasharan
a human being مِّنmin
from طِينٍۢṭīnin
clay ٧١
٧٢ص ٣٨:٧٢
فَإِذَاfa-idhā
So when سَوَّيْتُهُۥsawwaytuhu
I have proportioned him وَنَفَخْتُwanafakhtu
and breathed فِيهِfīhi
into him مِنmin
of رُّوحِىrūḥī
My spirit فَقَعُوا۟faqaʿū
then fall down لَهُۥlahu
to him سَـٰجِدِينَsājidīna
prostrating ٧٢
So when سَوَّيْتُهُۥsawwaytuhu
I have proportioned him وَنَفَخْتُwanafakhtu
and breathed فِيهِfīhi
into him مِنmin
of رُّوحِىrūḥī
My spirit فَقَعُوا۟faqaʿū
then fall down لَهُۥlahu
to him سَـٰجِدِينَsājidīna
prostrating ٧٢
٧٣ص ٣٨:٧٣
فَسَجَدَfasajada
So prostrated ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُl-malāikatu
the Angels كُلُّهُمْkulluhum
all of them أَجْمَعُونَajmaʿūna
together ٧٣
So prostrated ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُl-malāikatu
the Angels كُلُّهُمْkulluhum
all of them أَجْمَعُونَajmaʿūna
together ٧٣
٧٤ص ٣٨:٧٤
إِلَّآillā
Except إِبْلِيسَib'līsa
Iblis ٱسْتَكْبَرَis'takbara
he was arrogant وَكَانَwakāna
and became مِنَmina
of ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَl-kāfirīna
the disbelievers ٧٤
Except إِبْلِيسَib'līsa
Iblis ٱسْتَكْبَرَis'takbara
he was arrogant وَكَانَwakāna
and became مِنَmina
of ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَl-kāfirīna

٧٥ص ٣٨:٧٥
قَالَqāla
He said يَـٰٓإِبْلِيسُyāib'līsu
O Iblis مَاmā
What مَنَعَكَmanaʿaka
prevented you أَنan
that تَسْجُدَtasjuda
you (should) prostrate لِمَاlimā
to (one) whom خَلَقْتُkhalaqtu
I created بِيَدَىَّ ۖbiyadayya
with My Hands أَسْتَكْبَرْتَastakbarta
Are you arrogant أَمْam
or كُنتَkunta
are you مِنَmina
of ٱلْعَالِينَl-ʿālīna
the exalted ones ٧٥
He said يَـٰٓإِبْلِيسُyāib'līsu
O Iblis مَاmā
What مَنَعَكَmanaʿaka
prevented you أَنan
that تَسْجُدَtasjuda
you (should) prostrate لِمَاlimā
to (one) whom خَلَقْتُkhalaqtu
I created بِيَدَىَّ ۖbiyadayya
with My Hands أَسْتَكْبَرْتَastakbarta
Are you arrogant أَمْam
or كُنتَkunta
are you مِنَmina
of ٱلْعَالِينَl-ʿālīna
the exalted ones ٧٥
٧٦ص ٣٨:٧٦
قَالَqāla
He said أَنَا۠anā

better مِّنْهُ ۖmin'hu
than him خَلَقْتَنِىkhalaqtanī
You created me مِنmin
from نَّارٍۢnārin
fire وَخَلَقْتَهُۥwakhalaqtahu
and You created him مِنmin
from طِينٍۢṭīnin
clay ٧٦
He said أَنَا۠anā
I am خَيْرٌۭkhayrun
better مِّنْهُ ۖmin'hu
than him خَلَقْتَنِىkhalaqtanī
You created me مِنmin
from نَّارٍۢnārin
fire وَخَلَقْتَهُۥwakhalaqtahu
and You created him مِنmin
from طِينٍۢṭīnin
clay ٧٦
٧٧ص ٣٨:٧٧
قَالَqāla
He said فَٱخْرُجْfa-ukh'ruj
Then get out مِنْهَاmin'hā
of it فَإِنَّكَfa-innaka
for indeed, you رَجِيمٌۭrajīmun
(are) accursed ٧٧
He said فَٱخْرُجْfa-ukh'ruj
Then get out مِنْهَاmin'hā
of it فَإِنَّكَfa-innaka
for indeed, you رَجِيمٌۭrajīmun
(are) accursed ٧٧
٧٨ص ٣٨:٧٨
وَإِنَّwa-inna
And indeed عَلَيْكَʿalayka
upon you لَعْنَتِىٓlaʿnatī
(is) My curse إِلَىٰilā
until يَوْمِyawmi
(the) Day ٱلدِّينِl-dīni
(of) Judgment ٧٨
And indeed عَلَيْكَʿalayka
upon you لَعْنَتِىٓlaʿnatī
(is) My curse إِلَىٰilā
until يَوْمِyawmi
(the) Day ٱلدِّينِl-dīni
(of) Judgment ٧٨
٧٩ص ٣٨:٧٩
قَالَqāla
He said رَبِّrabbi
My Lord فَأَنظِرْنِىٓfa-anẓir'nī
Then give me respite إِلَىٰilā
until يَوْمِyawmi
(the) Day يُبْعَثُونَyub'ʿathūna
they are resurrected ٧٩
He said رَبِّrabbi
My Lord فَأَنظِرْنِىٓfa-anẓir'nī
Then give me respite إِلَىٰilā
until يَوْمِyawmi
(the) Day يُبْعَثُونَyub'ʿathūna
they are resurrected ٧٩
٨٠ص ٣٨:٨٠
قَالَqāla
He said فَإِنَّكَfa-innaka
Then indeed, you مِنَmina
(are) of ٱلْمُنظَرِينَl-munẓarīna
those given respite ٨٠
He said فَإِنَّكَfa-innaka
Then indeed, you مِنَmina
(are) of ٱلْمُنظَرِينَl-munẓarīna

٨١ص ٣٨:٨١
إِلَىٰilā
Until يَوْمِyawmi
(the) Day ٱلْوَقْتِl-waqti
(of) the time ٱلْمَعْلُومِl-maʿlūmi
well-known ٨١
Until يَوْمِyawmi
(the) Day ٱلْوَقْتِl-waqti
(of) the time ٱلْمَعْلُومِl-maʿlūmi

٨٢ص ٣٨:٨٢
قَالَqāla
He said فَبِعِزَّتِكَfabiʿizzatika
Then by Your might لَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْla-ugh'wiyannahum
I will surely mislead them أَجْمَعِينَajmaʿīna
all ٨٢
He said فَبِعِزَّتِكَfabiʿizzatika
Then by Your might لَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْla-ugh'wiyannahum
I will surely mislead them أَجْمَعِينَajmaʿīna
all ٨٢
٨٣ص ٣٨:٨٣
إِلَّاillā
Except عِبَادَكَʿibādaka
Your slaves مِنْهُمُmin'humu
among them ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَl-mukh'laṣīna
the chosen ones ٨٣
Except عِبَادَكَʿibādaka
Your slaves مِنْهُمُmin'humu
among them ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَl-mukh'laṣīna

٨٤ص ٣٨:٨٤
قَالَqāla
He said فَٱلْحَقُّfal-ḥaqu
Then (it is) the truth وَٱلْحَقَّwal-ḥaqa
and the truth أَقُولُaqūlu
I say ٨٤
He said فَٱلْحَقُّfal-ḥaqu
Then (it is) the truth وَٱلْحَقَّwal-ḥaqa
and the truth أَقُولُaqūlu
I say ٨٤
٨٥ص ٣٨:٨٥
لَأَمْلَأَنَّla-amla-anna
Surely I will fill جَهَنَّمَjahannama
Hell مِنكَminka
with you وَمِمَّنwamimman
and those who تَبِعَكَtabiʿaka
follow you مِنْهُمْmin'hum
among them أَجْمَعِينَajmaʿīna
all ٨٥
Surely I will fill جَهَنَّمَjahannama
Hell مِنكَminka

I ask of you عَلَيْهِʿalayhi

of ٱلْمُتَكَلِّفِينَl-mutakalifīna
the ones who pretend ٨٦

I ask of you عَلَيْهِʿalayhi

any أَجْرٍۢajrin

and not أَنَا۠anā
I am مِنَmina
of ٱلْمُتَكَلِّفِينَl-mutakalifīna
the ones who pretend ٨٦

a Reminder لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَlil'ʿālamīna

وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّwalataʿlamunna
And surely you will know نَبَأَهُۥnaba-ahu

a time ٨٨
And surely you will know نَبَأَهُۥnaba-ahu
