إِنَّآinnā Indeed, Weأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnā [We] sentنُوحًاnūḥan Nuhإِلَىٰilā toقَوْمِهِۦٓqawmihi his peopleأَنْan thatأَنذِرْandhir Warnقَوْمَكَqawmaka your peopleمِنmin fromقَبْلِqabli beforeأَنan [that]يَأْتِيَهُمْyatiyahum comes to themعَذَابٌʿadhābun a punishmentأَلِيمٌۭalīmun painful١
يَغْفِرْyaghfir He will forgiveلَكُمlakum for youمِّنmin [of]ذُنُوبِكُمْdhunūbikum your sinsوَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْwayu-akhir'kum and give you respiteإِلَىٰٓilā forأَجَلٍۢajalin a termمُّسَمًّى ۚmusamman specifiedإِنَّinna Indeedأَجَلَajala (the) termٱللَّهِl-lahi (of) Allahإِذَاidhā whenجَآءَjāa it comesلَاlā notيُؤَخَّرُ ۖyu-akharu is delayedلَوْlaw ifكُنتُمْkuntum youتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūna know٤
وَإِنِّىwa-innī And indeed, Iكُلَّمَاkullamā every timeدَعَوْتُهُمْdaʿawtuhum I invited themلِتَغْفِرَlitaghfira that You may forgiveلَهُمْlahum themجَعَلُوٓا۟jaʿalū they putأَصَـٰبِعَهُمْaṣābiʿahum their fingersفِىٓfī inءَاذَانِهِمْādhānihim their earsوَٱسْتَغْشَوْا۟wa-is'taghshaw and covered themselvesثِيَابَهُمْthiyābahum (with) their garmentsوَأَصَرُّوا۟wa-aṣarrū and persistedوَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟wa-is'takbarū and were arrogantٱسْتِكْبَارًۭاis'tik'bāran (with) pride٧
ثُمَّthumma Thenإِنِّىٓinnī indeed, Iأَعْلَنتُaʿlantu announcedلَهُمْlahum to themوَأَسْرَرْتُwa-asrartu and I confidedلَهُمْlahum to themإِسْرَارًۭاis'rāran secretly٩
فَقُلْتُfaqul'tu Then I saidٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟is'taghfirū Ask forgivenessرَبَّكُمْrabbakum (from) your Lordإِنَّهُۥinnahu Indeed, Heكَانَkāna isغَفَّارًۭاghaffāran Oft-Forgiving١٠
وَيُمْدِدْكُمwayum'did'kum And provide youبِأَمْوَٰلٍۢbi-amwālin with wealthوَبَنِينَwabanīna and childrenوَيَجْعَلwayajʿal and makeلَّكُمْlakum for youجَنَّـٰتٍۢjannātin gardensوَيَجْعَلwayajʿal and makeلَّكُمْlakum for youأَنْهَـٰرًۭاanhāran rivers١٢
أَلَمْalam Do notتَرَوْا۟taraw you seeكَيْفَkayfa howخَلَقَkhalaqa did createٱللَّهُl-lahu Allahسَبْعَsabʿa (the) sevenسَمَـٰوَٰتٍۢsamāwātin heavensطِبَاقًۭاṭibāqan (in) layers١٥
وَجَعَلَwajaʿala And madeٱلْقَمَرَl-qamara the moonفِيهِنَّfīhinna thereinنُورًۭاnūran a lightوَجَعَلَwajaʿala and madeٱلشَّمْسَl-shamsa the sunسِرَاجًۭاsirājan a lamp١٦
ثُمَّthumma Thenيُعِيدُكُمْyuʿīdukum He will return youفِيهَاfīhā into itوَيُخْرِجُكُمْwayukh'rijukum and bring you forthإِخْرَاجًۭاikh'rājan (a new) bringing forth١٨
قَالَqāla Saidنُوحٌۭnūḥun Nuhرَّبِّrabbi My Lordإِنَّهُمْinnahum Indeed, theyعَصَوْنِىʿaṣawnī disobeyed meوَٱتَّبَعُوا۟wa-ittabaʿū and followedمَنman (the one) whoلَّمْlam (did) notيَزِدْهُyazid'hu increase himمَالُهُۥmāluhu his wealthوَوَلَدُهُۥٓwawaladuhu and his childrenإِلَّاillā exceptخَسَارًۭاkhasāran (in) loss٢١
وَقَالُوا۟waqālū And they saidلَاlā (Do) notتَذَرُنَّtadharunna leaveءَالِهَتَكُمْālihatakum your godsوَلَاwalā and (do) notتَذَرُنَّtadharunna leaveوَدًّۭاwaddan Waddوَلَاwalā and notسُوَاعًۭاsuwāʿan Suwaوَلَاwalā and notيَغُوثَyaghūtha Yaguthوَيَعُوقَwayaʿūqa and Yauqوَنَسْرًۭاwanasran and Nasr٢٣
وَقَدْwaqad And indeedأَضَلُّوا۟aḍallū they have led astrayكَثِيرًۭا ۖkathīran manyوَلَاwalā And notتَزِدِtazidi increaseٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَl-ẓālimīna the wrongdoersإِلَّاillā exceptضَلَـٰلًۭاḍalālan (in) error٢٤
مِّمَّاmimmā Because ofخَطِيٓـَٔـٰتِهِمْkhaṭīātihim their sinsأُغْرِقُوا۟ugh'riqū they were drownedفَأُدْخِلُوا۟fa-ud'khilū then made to enterنَارًۭاnāran (the) Fireفَلَمْfalam and notيَجِدُوا۟yajidū they foundلَهُمlahum for themselvesمِّنmin fromدُونِdūni besidesٱللَّهِl-lahi Allahأَنصَارًۭاanṣāran any helpers٢٥
وَقَالَwaqāla And saidنُوحٌۭnūḥun Nuhرَّبِّrabbi My Lordلَاlā (Do) notتَذَرْtadhar leaveعَلَىʿalā onٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍi the earthمِنَmina anyٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَl-kāfirīna (of) the disbelieversدَيَّارًاdayyāran (as) an inhabitant٢٦
إِنَّكَinnaka Indeed, Youإِنin ifتَذَرْهُمْtadharhum You leave themيُضِلُّوا۟yuḍillū they will misleadعِبَادَكَʿibādaka Your slavesوَلَاwalā and notيَلِدُوٓا۟yalidū they will begetإِلَّاillā exceptفَاجِرًۭاfājiran a wickedكَفَّارًۭاkaffāran a disbeliever٢٧
رَّبِّrabbi My Lordٱغْفِرْigh'fir Forgiveلِىlī meوَلِوَٰلِدَىَّwaliwālidayya and my parentsوَلِمَنwaliman and whoeverدَخَلَdakhala entersبَيْتِىَbaytiya my house مُؤْمِنًۭاmu'minan a believerوَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَwalil'mu'minīna and the believing menوَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِwal-mu'mināti and the believing womenوَلَاwalā And (do) notتَزِدِtazidi increaseٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَl-ẓālimīna the wrongdoersإِلَّاillā exceptتَبَارًۢاtabāran (in) destruction٢٨
