يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhā O you who believeٱلَّذِينَalladhīna O you who believeءَامَنُوا۟āmanū O you who believeلَاlā (Do) notتُقَدِّمُوا۟tuqaddimū put (yourselves) forward بَيْنَbayna before Allahيَدَىِyadayi before Allahٱللَّهِl-lahi before Allahوَرَسُولِهِۦ ۖwarasūlihi and His Messengerوَٱتَّقُوا۟wa-ittaqū and fear Allahٱللَّهَ ۚl-laha and fear Allahإِنَّinna Indeedٱللَّهَl-laha Allahسَمِيعٌsamīʿun (is) All-Hearerعَلِيمٌۭʿalīmun All-Knower١
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhā O you who believeٱلَّذِينَalladhīna O you who believeءَامَنُوا۟āmanū O you who believeلَاlā (Do) notتَرْفَعُوٓا۟tarfaʿū raiseأَصْوَٰتَكُمْaṣwātakum your voicesفَوْقَfawqa aboveصَوْتِṣawti (the) voiceٱلنَّبِىِّl-nabiyi (of) the Prophetوَلَاwalā and (do) notتَجْهَرُوا۟tajharū be loudلَهُۥlahu to himبِٱلْقَوْلِbil-qawli in speechكَجَهْرِkajahri like (the) loudnessبَعْضِكُمْbaʿḍikum (of) some of youلِبَعْضٍlibaʿḍin to othersأَنan lestتَحْبَطَtaḥbaṭa become worthlessأَعْمَـٰلُكُمْaʿmālukum your deedsوَأَنتُمْwa-antum while youلَاlā (do) notتَشْعُرُونَtashʿurūna perceive٢
إِنَّinna Indeedٱلَّذِينَalladhīna those whoيَغُضُّونَyaghuḍḍūna lowerأَصْوَٰتَهُمْaṣwātahum their voicesعِندَʿinda (in) presenceرَسُولِrasūli (of the) Messenger of Allah ٱللَّهِl-lahi (of the) Messenger of Allah أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāika thoseٱلَّذِينَalladhīna (are) the onesٱمْتَحَنَim'taḥana Allah has testedٱللَّهُl-lahu Allah has testedقُلُوبَهُمْqulūbahum their heartsلِلتَّقْوَىٰ ۚlilttaqwā for righteousnessلَهُمlahum For themمَّغْفِرَةٌۭmaghfiratun (is) forgivenessوَأَجْرٌwa-ajrun and a rewardعَظِيمٌʿaẓīmun great٣
إِنَّinna Indeedٱلَّذِينَalladhīna those whoيُنَادُونَكَyunādūnaka call youمِنmin fromوَرَآءِwarāi behindٱلْحُجُرَٰتِl-ḥujurāti the private chambersأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhum most of themلَاlā (do) notيَعْقِلُونَyaʿqilūna understand٤
وَلَوْwalaw And ifأَنَّهُمْannahum theyصَبَرُوا۟ṣabarū had been patientحَتَّىٰḥattā untilتَخْرُجَtakhruja you came outإِلَيْهِمْilayhim to themلَكَانَlakāna certainly it would beخَيْرًۭاkhayran betterلَّهُمْ ۚlahum for themوَٱللَّهُwal-lahu And Allahغَفُورٌۭghafūrun (is) Oft-Forgivingرَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmun Most Merciful٥
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhā O you who believeٱلَّذِينَalladhīna O you who believeءَامَنُوٓا۟āmanū O you who believeإِنin Ifجَآءَكُمْjāakum comes to youفَاسِقٌۢfāsiqun a wicked personبِنَبَإٍۢbinaba-in with informationفَتَبَيَّنُوٓا۟fatabayyanū investigateأَنan lestتُصِيبُوا۟tuṣībū you harmقَوْمًۢاqawman a peopleبِجَهَـٰلَةٍۢbijahālatin in ignoranceفَتُصْبِحُوا۟fatuṣ'biḥū then you becomeعَلَىٰʿalā overمَاmā whatفَعَلْتُمْfaʿaltum you have doneنَـٰدِمِينَnādimīna regretful٦
وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟wa-iʿ'lamū And knowأَنَّanna thatفِيكُمْfīkum among youرَسُولَrasūla (is the) Messenger of Allahٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahi (is the) Messenger of Allahلَوْlaw Ifيُطِيعُكُمْyuṭīʿukum he were to obey youفِىfī inكَثِيرٍۢkathīrin muchمِّنَmina ofٱلْأَمْرِl-amri the matterلَعَنِتُّمْlaʿanittum surely you would be in difficultyوَلَـٰكِنَّwalākinna butٱللَّهَl-laha Allahحَبَّبَḥabbaba has endearedإِلَيْكُمُilaykumu to youٱلْإِيمَـٰنَl-īmāna the Faithوَزَيَّنَهُۥwazayyanahu and has made it pleasingفِىfī inقُلُوبِكُمْqulūbikum your heartsوَكَرَّهَwakarraha and has made hatefulإِلَيْكُمُilaykumu to youٱلْكُفْرَl-kuf'ra disbeliefوَٱلْفُسُوقَwal-fusūqa and defianceوَٱلْعِصْيَانَ ۚwal-ʿiṣ'yāna and disobedienceأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāika Thoseهُمُhumu (are) they ٱلرَّٰشِدُونَl-rāshidūna the guided ones٧
فَضْلًۭاfaḍlan A Bountyمِّنَmina from Allahٱللَّهِl-lahi from Allahوَنِعْمَةًۭ ۚwaniʿ'matan and favorوَٱللَّهُwal-lahu And Allahعَلِيمٌʿalīmun (is) All-Knowerحَكِيمٌۭḥakīmun All-Wise٨
وَإِنwa-in And ifطَآئِفَتَانِṭāifatāni two partiesمِنَmina amongٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīna the believersٱقْتَتَلُوا۟iq'tatalū fightفَأَصْلِحُوا۟fa-aṣliḥū then make peaceبَيْنَهُمَا ۖbaynahumā between both of themفَإِنۢfa-in But ifبَغَتْbaghat oppressesإِحْدَىٰهُمَاiḥ'dāhumā one of themعَلَىʿalā onٱلْأُخْرَىٰl-ukh'rā the otherفَقَـٰتِلُوا۟faqātilū then fightٱلَّتِىallatī one whichتَبْغِىtabghī oppressesحَتَّىٰḥattā untilتَفِىٓءَtafīa it returnsإِلَىٰٓilā toأَمْرِamri (the) commandٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahi (of) Allahفَإِنfa-in Then ifفَآءَتْfāat it returnsفَأَصْلِحُوا۟fa-aṣliḥū then make peaceبَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumā between themبِٱلْعَدْلِbil-ʿadli with justiceوَأَقْسِطُوٓا۟ ۖwa-aqsiṭū and act justlyإِنَّinna Indeedٱللَّهَl-laha Allahيُحِبُّyuḥibbu lovesٱلْمُقْسِطِينَl-muq'siṭīna those who act justly٩
إِنَّمَاinnamā Onlyٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَl-mu'minūna the believersإِخْوَةٌۭikh'watun (are) brothersفَأَصْلِحُوا۟fa-aṣliḥū so make peaceبَيْنَbayna betweenأَخَوَيْكُمْ ۚakhawaykum your brothersوَٱتَّقُوا۟wa-ittaqū and fear Allahٱللَّهَl-laha and fear Allahلَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakum so that you mayتُرْحَمُونَtur'ḥamūna receive mercy١٠
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhā O you who believeٱلَّذِينَalladhīna O you who believeءَامَنُوا۟āmanū O you who believeلَاlā (Let) notيَسْخَرْyaskhar ridiculeقَوْمٌۭqawmun a peopleمِّنmin [of]قَوْمٍqawmin (another) peopleعَسَىٰٓʿasā perhapsأَنan thatيَكُونُوا۟yakūnū they may beخَيْرًۭاkhayran betterمِّنْهُمْmin'hum than themوَلَاwalā and (let) notنِسَآءٌۭnisāon womenمِّنmin [of]نِّسَآءٍnisāin (other) womenعَسَىٰٓʿasā perhapsأَنan thatيَكُنَّyakunna they may beخَيْرًۭاkhayran betterمِّنْهُنَّ ۖmin'hunna than themوَلَاwalā And (do) notتَلْمِزُوٓا۟talmizū insultأَنفُسَكُمْanfusakum yourselvesوَلَاwalā and (do) notتَنَابَزُوا۟tanābazū call each otherبِٱلْأَلْقَـٰبِ ۖbil-alqābi by nicknamesبِئْسَbi'sa Wretched isٱلِٱسْمُl-s'mu the nameٱلْفُسُوقُl-fusūqu (of) disobedienceبَعْدَbaʿda afterٱلْإِيمَـٰنِ ۚl-īmāni the faithوَمَنwaman And whoeverلَّمْlam (does) notيَتُبْyatub repentفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَfa-ulāika then those هُمُhumu theyٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَl-ẓālimūna (are) the wrongdoers١١
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhā O you who believeٱلَّذِينَalladhīna O you who believeءَامَنُوا۟āmanū O you who believeٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ij'tanibū Avoidكَثِيرًۭاkathīran muchمِّنَmina ofٱلظَّنِّl-ẓani the assumptionإِنَّinna Indeedبَعْضَbaʿḍa someٱلظَّنِّl-ẓani assumptionإِثْمٌۭ ۖith'mun (is) sinوَلَاwalā And (do) notتَجَسَّسُوا۟tajassasū spyوَلَاwalā and (do) notيَغْتَبyaghtab backbiteبَّعْضُكُمbaʿḍukum some of youبَعْضًا ۚbaʿḍan (to) othersأَيُحِبُّayuḥibbu Would likeأَحَدُكُمْaḥadukum one of youأَنan toيَأْكُلَyakula eatلَحْمَlaḥma (the) fleshأَخِيهِakhīhi (of) his brotherمَيْتًۭاmaytan deadفَكَرِهْتُمُوهُ ۚfakarih'tumūhu Nay, you would hate itوَٱتَّقُوا۟wa-ittaqū And fear Allahٱللَّهَ ۚl-laha And fear Allahإِنَّinna indeedٱللَّهَl-laha Allahتَوَّابٌۭtawwābun (is) Oft-Returningرَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmun Most Merciful١٢
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhā O mankindٱلنَّاسُl-nāsu O mankindإِنَّاinnā Indeed, Weخَلَقْنَـٰكُمkhalaqnākum created youمِّنmin fromذَكَرٍۢdhakarin a maleوَأُنثَىٰwa-unthā and a femaleوَجَعَلْنَـٰكُمْwajaʿalnākum and We made youشُعُوبًۭاshuʿūban nationsوَقَبَآئِلَwaqabāila and tribesلِتَعَارَفُوٓا۟ ۚlitaʿārafū that you may know one anotherإِنَّinna Indeedأَكْرَمَكُمْakramakum (the) most noble of youعِندَʿinda nearٱللَّهِl-lahi Allahأَتْقَىٰكُمْ ۚatqākum (is the) most righteous of youإِنَّinna Indeedٱللَّهَl-laha Allahعَلِيمٌʿalīmun (is) All-Knowerخَبِيرٌۭkhabīrun All-Aware١٣
۞ قَالَتِqālati Sayٱلْأَعْرَابُl-aʿrābu the Bedouinsءَامَنَّا ۖāmannā We believeقُلqul Sayلَّمْlam Notتُؤْمِنُوا۟tu'minū you believeوَلَـٰكِنwalākin butقُولُوٓا۟qūlū sayأَسْلَمْنَاaslamnā We have submittedوَلَمَّاwalammā and has not yetيَدْخُلِyadkhuli enteredٱلْإِيمَـٰنُl-īmānu the faithفِىfī inقُلُوبِكُمْ ۖqulūbikum your heartsوَإِنwa-in But ifتُطِيعُوا۟tuṭīʿū you obeyٱللَّهَl-laha Allahوَرَسُولَهُۥwarasūlahu and His Messengerلَاlā notيَلِتْكُمyalit'kum He will deprive youمِّنْmin ofأَعْمَـٰلِكُمْaʿmālikum your deedsشَيْـًٔا ۚshayan anythingإِنَّinna Indeedٱللَّهَl-laha Allahغَفُورٌۭghafūrun (is) Oft-Forgivingرَّحِيمٌraḥīmun Most Merciful١٤
إِنَّمَاinnamā Onlyٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَl-mu'minūna the believersٱلَّذِينَalladhīna (are) those whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanū believeبِٱللَّهِbil-lahi in Allahوَرَسُولِهِۦwarasūlihi and His Messengerثُمَّthumma thenلَمْlam (do) notيَرْتَابُوا۟yartābū doubtوَجَـٰهَدُوا۟wajāhadū but striveبِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْbi-amwālihim with their wealthوَأَنفُسِهِمْwa-anfusihim and their livesفِىfī inسَبِيلِsabīli (the) wayٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahi (of) Allahأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāika Thoseهُمُhumu [they]ٱلصَّـٰدِقُونَl-ṣādiqūna (are) the truthful١٥
قُلْqul Sayأَتُعَلِّمُونَatuʿallimūna Will you acquaintٱللَّهَl-laha Allahبِدِينِكُمْbidīnikum with your religionوَٱللَّهُwal-lahu while Allahيَعْلَمُyaʿlamu knowsمَاmā whatفِىfī (is) inٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti the heavensوَمَاwamā and whatفِىfī (is) inٱلْأَرْضِ ۚl-arḍi the earthوَٱللَّهُwal-lahu And Allahبِكُلِّbikulli of everyشَىْءٍshayin thingعَلِيمٌۭʿalīmun (is) All-Knower١٦
يَمُنُّونَyamunnūna They consider (it) a favorعَلَيْكَʿalayka to youأَنْan thatأَسْلَمُوا۟ ۖaslamū they have accepted Islamقُلqul Sayلَّاlā (Do) notتَمُنُّوا۟tamunnū consider a favorعَلَىَّʿalayya on me إِسْلَـٰمَكُم ۖis'lāmakum your Islamبَلِbali Nayٱللَّهُl-lahu Allahيَمُنُّyamunnu has conferred a favorعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykum upon youأَنْan thatهَدَىٰكُمْhadākum He has guided youلِلْإِيمَـٰنِlil'īmāni to the faithإِنin ifكُنتُمْkuntum you areصَـٰدِقِينَṣādiqīna truthful١٧
إِنَّinna Indeedٱللَّهَl-laha Allahيَعْلَمُyaʿlamu knowsغَيْبَghayba (the) unseenٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti (of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚwal-arḍi and the earthوَٱللَّهُwal-lahu And Allahبَصِيرٌۢbaṣīrun (is) All-Seerبِمَاbimā of whatتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūna you do١٨
