يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhā O youٱلَّذِينَalladhīna whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanū believeلَاlā (Do) notتَتَّخِذُوا۟tattakhidhū takeعَدُوِّىʿaduwwī My enemiesوَعَدُوَّكُمْwaʿaduwwakum and your enemiesأَوْلِيَآءَawliyāa (as) alliesتُلْقُونَtul'qūna offeringإِلَيْهِمilayhim themبِٱلْمَوَدَّةِbil-mawadati loveوَقَدْwaqad whileكَفَرُوا۟kafarū they have disbelievedبِمَاbimā in whatجَآءَكُمjāakum came to youمِّنَmina ofٱلْحَقِّl-ḥaqi the truthيُخْرِجُونَyukh'rijūna driving outٱلرَّسُولَl-rasūla the Messengerوَإِيَّاكُمْ ۙwa-iyyākum and yourselvesأَنan becauseتُؤْمِنُوا۟tu'minū you believeبِٱللَّهِbil-lahi in Allahرَبِّكُمْrabbikum your Lordإِنin Ifكُنتُمْkuntum youخَرَجْتُمْkharajtum come forthجِهَـٰدًۭاjihādan (to) striveفِىfī inسَبِيلِىsabīlī My wayوَٱبْتِغَآءَwa-ib'tighāa and (to) seekمَرْضَاتِى ۚmarḍātī My Pleasureتُسِرُّونَtusirrūna You confideإِلَيْهِمilayhim to themبِٱلْمَوَدَّةِbil-mawadati loveوَأَنَا۠wa-anā but I Amأَعْلَمُaʿlamu most knowingبِمَآbimā of whatأَخْفَيْتُمْakhfaytum you concealوَمَآwamā and whatأَعْلَنتُمْ ۚaʿlantum you declareوَمَنwaman And whoeverيَفْعَلْهُyafʿalhu does itمِنكُمْminkum among youفَقَدْfaqad then certainlyضَلَّḍalla he has strayedسَوَآءَsawāa (from the) straightٱلسَّبِيلِl-sabīli path١
إِنin Ifيَثْقَفُوكُمْyathqafūkum they gain dominance over youيَكُونُوا۟yakūnū they would beلَكُمْlakum to youأَعْدَآءًۭaʿdāan enemiesوَيَبْسُطُوٓا۟wayabsuṭū and extendإِلَيْكُمْilaykum against youأَيْدِيَهُمْaydiyahum their handsوَأَلْسِنَتَهُمwa-alsinatahum and their tonguesبِٱلسُّوٓءِbil-sūi with evilوَوَدُّوا۟wawaddū and they desireلَوْlaw thatتَكْفُرُونَtakfurūna you would disbelieve٢
لَنlan Neverتَنفَعَكُمْtanfaʿakum will benefit youأَرْحَامُكُمْarḥāmukum your relativesوَلَآwalā and notأَوْلَـٰدُكُمْ ۚawlādukum your childrenيَوْمَyawma (on the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati (of) the Resurrectionيَفْصِلُyafṣilu He will judgeبَيْنَكُمْ ۚbaynakum between youوَٱللَّهُwal-lahu And Allahبِمَاbimā of whatتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūna you doبَصِيرٌۭbaṣīrun (is) All-Seer٣
قَدْqad Indeedكَانَتْkānat (there) isلَكُمْlakum for youأُسْوَةٌus'watun an exampleحَسَنَةٌۭḥasanatun goodفِىٓfī inإِبْرَٰهِيمَib'rāhīma Ibrahimوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīna and thoseمَعَهُۥٓmaʿahu with himإِذْidh whenقَالُوا۟qālū they saidلِقَوْمِهِمْliqawmihim to their peopleإِنَّاinnā Indeed, weبُرَءَٰٓؤُا۟buraāu (are) disassociatedمِنكُمْminkum from youوَمِمَّاwamimmā and from whatتَعْبُدُونَtaʿbudūna you worshipمِنmin fromدُونِdūni besidesٱللَّهِl-lahi Allahكَفَرْنَاkafarnā We have deniedبِكُمْbikum youوَبَدَاwabadā and has appearedبَيْنَنَاbaynanā between usوَبَيْنَكُمُwabaynakumu and between youٱلْعَدَٰوَةُl-ʿadāwatu enmityوَٱلْبَغْضَآءُwal-baghḍāu and hatredأَبَدًاabadan foreverحَتَّىٰḥattā untilتُؤْمِنُوا۟tu'minū you believeبِٱللَّهِbil-lahi in Allahوَحْدَهُۥٓwaḥdahu Aloneإِلَّاillā Exceptقَوْلَqawla (the) sayingإِبْرَٰهِيمَib'rāhīma (of) Ibrahimلِأَبِيهِli-abīhi to his fatherلَأَسْتَغْفِرَنَّla-astaghfiranna Surely I ask forgivenessلَكَlaka for youوَمَآwamā but notأَمْلِكُamliku I have powerلَكَlaka for youمِنَmina fromٱللَّهِl-lahi Allahمِنmin ofشَىْءٍۢ ۖshayin anythingرَّبَّنَاrabbanā Our Lordعَلَيْكَʿalayka upon Youتَوَكَّلْنَاtawakkalnā we put our trustوَإِلَيْكَwa-ilayka and to Youأَنَبْنَاanabnā we turnوَإِلَيْكَwa-ilayka and to Youٱلْمَصِيرُl-maṣīru (is) the final return٤
رَبَّنَاrabbanā Our Lordلَاlā (do) notتَجْعَلْنَاtajʿalnā make usفِتْنَةًۭfit'natan a trialلِّلَّذِينَlilladhīna for those whoكَفَرُوا۟kafarū disbelieveوَٱغْفِرْwa-igh'fir and forgiveلَنَاlanā usرَبَّنَآ ۖrabbanā our Lordإِنَّكَinnaka Indeed Youأَنتَanta [You]ٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu (are) the All-Mightyٱلْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmu the All-Wise٥
لَقَدْlaqad Certainlyكَانَkāna (there) isلَكُمْlakum for youفِيهِمْfīhim in themأُسْوَةٌus'watun an exampleحَسَنَةٌۭḥasanatun goodلِّمَنliman for (he) whoكَانَkāna isيَرْجُوا۟yarjū hopefulٱللَّهَl-laha (in) Allahوَٱلْيَوْمَwal-yawma and the Dayٱلْـَٔاخِرَ ۚl-ākhira the Lastوَمَنwaman And whoeverيَتَوَلَّyatawalla turns awayفَإِنَّfa-inna then indeedٱللَّهَl-laha Allahهُوَhuwa Heٱلْغَنِىُّl-ghaniyu (is) Free of needٱلْحَمِيدُl-ḥamīdu the Praiseworthy٦
۞ عَسَىʿasā Perhapsٱللَّهُl-lahu Allahأَنan [that]يَجْعَلَyajʿala will putبَيْنَكُمْbaynakum between youوَبَيْنَwabayna and betweenٱلَّذِينَalladhīna those (to) whomعَادَيْتُمʿādaytum you have been enemiesمِّنْهُمmin'hum among themمَّوَدَّةًۭ ۚmawaddatan loveوَٱللَّهُwal-lahu And Allahقَدِيرٌۭ ۚqadīrun (is) All-Powerfulوَٱللَّهُwal-lahu And Allahغَفُورٌۭghafūrun (is) Oft-Forgivingرَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmun Most Merciful٧
لَّاlā Notيَنْهَىٰكُمُyanhākumu (does) forbid youٱللَّهُl-lahu Allahعَنِʿani fromٱلَّذِينَalladhīna those whoلَمْlam (do) notيُقَـٰتِلُوكُمْyuqātilūkum fight youفِىfī inٱلدِّينِl-dīni the religionوَلَمْwalam and (do) notيُخْرِجُوكُمyukh'rijūkum drive you outمِّنmin ofدِيَـٰرِكُمْdiyārikum your homesأَنan thatتَبَرُّوهُمْtabarrūhum you deal kindlyوَتُقْسِطُوٓا۟watuq'siṭū and deal justlyإِلَيْهِمْ ۚilayhim with themإِنَّinna Indeedٱللَّهَl-laha Allahيُحِبُّyuḥibbu lovesٱلْمُقْسِطِينَl-muq'siṭīna those who act justly٨
إِنَّمَاinnamā Onlyيَنْهَىٰكُمُyanhākumu forbids youٱللَّهُl-lahu Allahعَنِʿani fromٱلَّذِينَalladhīna those whoقَـٰتَلُوكُمْqātalūkum fight youفِىfī inٱلدِّينِl-dīni the religionوَأَخْرَجُوكُمwa-akhrajūkum and drive you outمِّنmin ofدِيَـٰرِكُمْdiyārikum your homesوَظَـٰهَرُوا۟waẓāharū and supportعَلَىٰٓʿalā inإِخْرَاجِكُمْikh'rājikum your expulsionأَنan thatتَوَلَّوْهُمْ ۚtawallawhum you make them alliesوَمَنwaman And whoeverيَتَوَلَّهُمْyatawallahum makes them alliesفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَfa-ulāika then thoseهُمُhumu [they]ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَl-ẓālimūna (are) the wrongdoers٩
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhā O youٱلَّذِينَalladhīna whoءَامَنُوٓا۟āmanū believeإِذَاidhā Whenجَآءَكُمُjāakumu come to youٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتُl-mu'minātu the believing womenمُهَـٰجِرَٰتٍۢmuhājirātin (as) emigrantsفَٱمْتَحِنُوهُنَّ ۖfa-im'taḥinūhunna then examine themٱللَّهُl-lahu Allahأَعْلَمُaʿlamu (is) most knowingبِإِيمَـٰنِهِنَّ ۖbiīmānihinna of their faithفَإِنْfa-in And ifعَلِمْتُمُوهُنَّʿalim'tumūhunna you know themمُؤْمِنَـٰتٍۢmu'minātin (to be) believersفَلَاfalā then (do) notتَرْجِعُوهُنَّtarjiʿūhunna return themإِلَىilā toٱلْكُفَّارِ ۖl-kufāri the disbelieversلَاlā Notهُنَّhunna theyحِلٌّۭḥillun (are) lawfulلَّهُمْlahum for themوَلَاwalā and notهُمْhum theyيَحِلُّونَyaḥillūna are lawfulلَهُنَّ ۖlahunna for themوَءَاتُوهُمwaātūhum But give themمَّآmā whatأَنفَقُوا۟ ۚanfaqū they have spentوَلَاwalā And notجُنَاحَjunāḥa any blameعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykum upon youأَنan ifتَنكِحُوهُنَّtankiḥūhunna you marry themإِذَآidhā whenءَاتَيْتُمُوهُنَّātaytumūhunna you have given themأُجُورَهُنَّ ۚujūrahunna their (bridal) duesوَلَاwalā And (do) notتُمْسِكُوا۟tum'sikū holdبِعِصَمِbiʿiṣami to marriage bondsٱلْكَوَافِرِl-kawāfiri (with) disbelieving womenوَسْـَٔلُوا۟wasalū but ask (for)مَآmā whatأَنفَقْتُمْanfaqtum you have spentوَلْيَسْـَٔلُوا۟walyasalū and let them askمَآmā whatأَنفَقُوا۟ ۚanfaqū they have spentذَٰلِكُمْdhālikum Thatحُكْمُḥuk'mu (is the) Judgmentٱللَّهِ ۖl-lahi (of) Allahيَحْكُمُyaḥkumu He judgesبَيْنَكُمْ ۚbaynakum between youوَٱللَّهُwal-lahu And Allahعَلِيمٌʿalīmun (is) All-Knowingحَكِيمٌۭḥakīmun All-Wise١٠
وَإِنwa-in And ifفَاتَكُمْfātakum have gone from youشَىْءٌۭshayon anyمِّنْmin ofأَزْوَٰجِكُمْazwājikum your wivesإِلَىilā toٱلْكُفَّارِl-kufāri the disbelieversفَعَاقَبْتُمْfaʿāqabtum then your turn comesفَـَٔاتُوا۟faātū then giveٱلَّذِينَalladhīna (to) those whoذَهَبَتْdhahabat have goneأَزْوَٰجُهُمazwājuhum their wivesمِّثْلَmith'la (the) likeمَآmā (of) whatأَنفَقُوا۟ ۚanfaqū they had spentوَٱتَّقُوا۟wa-ittaqū And fearٱللَّهَl-laha Allahٱلَّذِىٓalladhī (in) Whomأَنتُمantum youبِهِۦbihi [in Him]مُؤْمِنُونَmu'minūna (are) believers١١
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhā Oٱلنَّبِىُّl-nabiyu Prophetإِذَاidhā Whenجَآءَكَjāaka come to youٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتُl-mu'minātu the believing womenيُبَايِعْنَكَyubāyiʿ'naka pledging to youعَلَىٰٓʿalā [on]أَنan thatلَّاlā notيُشْرِكْنَyush'rik'na they will associateبِٱللَّهِbil-lahi with Allahشَيْـًۭٔاshayan anythingوَلَاwalā and notيَسْرِقْنَyasriq'na they will stealوَلَاwalā and notيَزْنِينَyaznīna they will commit adulteryوَلَاwalā and notيَقْتُلْنَyaqtul'na they will killأَوْلَـٰدَهُنَّawlādahunna their childrenوَلَاwalā and notيَأْتِينَyatīna they bringبِبُهْتَـٰنٍۢbibuh'tānin slanderيَفْتَرِينَهُۥyaftarīnahu they invent itبَيْنَbayna betweenأَيْدِيهِنَّaydīhinna their handsوَأَرْجُلِهِنَّwa-arjulihinna and their feetوَلَاwalā and notيَعْصِينَكَyaʿṣīnaka they will disobey youفِىfī inمَعْرُوفٍۢ ۙmaʿrūfin (the) rightفَبَايِعْهُنَّfabāyiʿ'hunna then accept their pledgeوَٱسْتَغْفِرْwa-is'taghfir and ask forgivenessلَهُنَّlahunna for themٱللَّهَ ۖl-laha (from) Allahإِنَّinna Indeedٱللَّهَl-laha Allahغَفُورٌۭghafūrun (is) Oft-Forgivingرَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmun Most Merciful١٢
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhā O youٱلَّذِينَalladhīna whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanū believeلَاlā (Do) notتَتَوَلَّوْا۟tatawallaw make alliesقَوْمًاqawman (of) a peopleغَضِبَghaḍiba (The) wrathٱللَّهُl-lahu (of) Allahعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhim (is) upon themقَدْqad Indeedيَئِسُوا۟ya-isū they despairمِنَmina ofٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhirati the Hereafterكَمَاkamā asيَئِسَya-isa despairٱلْكُفَّارُl-kufāru the disbelieversمِنْmin ofأَصْحَـٰبِaṣḥābi (the) companionsٱلْقُبُورِl-qubūri (of) the graves١٣
