Will come
amru
(the) command of Allah
l-lahi
(the) command of Allah
falā
so (do) not
tastaʿjilūhu
(be) impatient for it
sub'ḥānahu
Glorified is He
wataʿālā
and Exalted (is) He
ʿammā
above what
yush'rikūna
they associate
۝١
The command of Allāh is coming, so be not impatient for it. Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him.
yunazzilu
He sends down
l-malāikata
the Angels
bil-rūḥi
with the inspiration
min
of
amrihi
His Command
ʿalā
upon
man
whom
yashāu
He wills
min
of
ʿibādihi
His slaves
an
that

Warn
annahu
that [He]
lā
(there is) no
ilāha
god
illā
except
anā
Me
fa-ittaqūni
so fear Me
۝٢
He sends down the angels, with the inspiration [i.e., revelation] of His command, upon whom He wills of His servants, [telling them], "Warn that there is no deity except Me; so fear Me."
khalaqa
He created
l-samāwāti
the heavens
wal-arḍa
and the earth
bil-ḥaqi
in truth
taʿālā
Exalted is He
ʿammā
above what
yush'rikūna
they associate
۝٣
He created the heavens and earth in truth. High is He above what they associate with Him.
khalaqa
He created
l-insāna
the human kind
min
from
nuṭ'fatin
a minute quantity of semen
fa-idhā
then behold
huwa
he
khaṣīmun
(is) an opponent
mubīnun
clear
۝٤
He created man from a sperm-drop; then at once he is a clear adversary.
wal-anʿāma
And the cattle
khalaqahā
He created them
lakum
for you
fīhā
in them
dif'on
(is) warmth
wamanāfiʿu
and benefits
wamin'hā
and from them
takulūna
you eat
۝٥
And the grazing livestock He has created for you; in them is warmth and [numerous] benefits, and from them you eat.
walakum
And for you
fīhā
in them
jamālun
(is) beauty
ḥīna
when
turīḥūna
you bring them in
waḥīna
and when
tasraḥūna
you take them out
۝٦
And for you in them is [the enjoyment of] beauty when you bring them in [for the evening] and when you send them out [to pasture].
wataḥmilu
And they carry
athqālakum
your loads
ilā
to
baladin
a land
lam
not
takūnū
you could
bālighīhi
reach it
illā
except
bishiqqi
with great trouble
l-anfusi
(to) yourselves
inna
Indeed
rabbakum
your Lord
laraūfun
surely is Most Kind
raḥīmun
Most Merciful
۝٧
And they carry your loads to a land you could not have reached except with difficulty to yourselves. Indeed, your Lord is Kind and Merciful.
wal-khayla
And horses
wal-bighāla
and mules
wal-ḥamīra
and donkeys
litarkabūhā
for you to ride them
wazīnatan
and (as) adornment
wayakhluqu
And He creates
mā
what
lā
not
taʿlamūna
you know
۝٨
And [He created] the horses, mules and donkeys for you to ride and [as] adornment. And He creates that which you do not know.
waʿalā
And upon
l-lahi
Allah
qaṣdu
(is) the direction
l-sabīli
(of) the way
wamin'hā
and among them
jāirun
(are) crooked
walaw
And if
shāa
He willed
lahadākum
surely He would have guided you
ajmaʿīna
all
۝٩
And upon Allāh is the direction of the [right] way, and among them [i.e., the various paths] are those deviating. And if He willed, He could have guided you all.
huwa
He
alladhī
(is) the One Who
anzala
sends down
mina
from
l-samāi
the sky
māan
water
lakum
for you
min'hu
of it
sharābun
(is) drink
wamin'hu
and from it
shajarun
(grows) vegetation
fīhi
in which
tusīmūna
you pasture your cattle
۝١٠
It is He who sends down rain from the sky; from it is drink and from it is foliage in which you pasture [animals].
yunbitu
He causes to grow
lakum
for you
bihi
with it
l-zarʿa
the crops
wal-zaytūna
and the olives
wal-nakhīla
and the date-palms
wal-aʿnāba
and the grapes
wamin
and of
kulli
every kind
l-thamarāti
(of) fruits
inna
Indeed
fī
in
dhālika
that
laāyatan
surely (is) a sign
liqawmin
for a people
yatafakkarūna
who reflect
۝١١
He causes to grow for you thereby the crops, olives, palm trees, grapevines, and of all the fruits. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought.
wasakhara
And He has subjected
lakumu
for you
al-layla
the night
wal-nahāra
and the day
wal-shamsa
and the sun
wal-qamara
and the moon
wal-nujūmu
and the stars
musakharātun
(are) subjected
bi-amrihi
by His command
inna
Indeed
fī
in
dhālika
that
laāyātin
surely (are) signs
liqawmin
for a people
yaʿqilūna
who use reason
۝١٢
And He has subjected for you the night and day and the sun and moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason.
wamā
And whatever
dhara-a
He multiplied
lakum
for you
fī
in
l-arḍi
the earth
mukh'talifan
(of) varying
alwānuhu
colors
inna
Indeed
fī
in
dhālika
that
laāyatan
surely (is) a sign
liqawmin
for a people
yadhakkarūna
who remember
۝١٣
And [He has subjected] whatever He multiplied for you on the earth of varying colors. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who remember.
wahuwa
And He
alladhī
(is) the One Who
sakhara
subjected
l-baḥra
the sea
litakulū
for you to eat
min'hu
from it
laḥman
meat
ṭariyyan
fresh
watastakhrijū
and that you bring forth
min'hu
from it
ḥil'yatan
ornaments
talbasūnahā
(that) you wear them
watarā
And you see
l-ful'ka
the ships
mawākhira
ploughing
fīhi
through it
walitabtaghū
and that you may seek
min
of
faḍlihi
His Bounty
walaʿallakum
and that you may
tashkurūna
(be) grateful
۝١٤
And it is He who subjected the sea for you to eat from it tender meat and to extract from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing through it, and [He subjected it] that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful.
wa-alqā
And He has cast
fī
in
l-arḍi
the earth
rawāsiya
firm mountains
an
lest
tamīda
it should shake
bikum
with you
wa-anhāran
and rivers
wasubulan
and roads
laʿallakum
so that you may
tahtadūna
be guided
۝١٥
And He has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it shift with you, and [made] rivers and roads, that you may be guided,
waʿalāmātin
And landmarks
wabil-najmi
And by the stars
hum
they
yahtadūna
guide themselves
۝١٦
And landmarks. And by the stars they are [also] guided.
afaman
Then is He Who
yakhluqu
creates
kaman
like one who
lā
(does) not
yakhluqu
create
afalā
Then will you not
tadhakkarūna
remember
۝١٧
Then is He who creates like one who does not create? So will you not be reminded?
wa-in
And if
taʿuddū
you should count
niʿ'mata
the Favors of Allah
l-lahi
the Favors of Allah
lā
not
tuḥ'ṣūhā
you could enumerate them
inna
Indeed
l-laha
Allah
laghafūrun
(is) Oft-Forgiving
raḥīmun
Most Merciful
۝١٨
And if you should count the favors of Allāh, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.
wal-lahu
And Allah
yaʿlamu
knows
mā
what
tusirrūna
you conceal
wamā
and what
tuʿ'linūna
you reveal
۝١٩
And Allāh knows what you conceal and what you declare.
wa-alladhīna
And those whom
yadʿūna
they invoke
min
besides
dūni
besides
l-lahi
Allah
lā
not
yakhluqūna
they create
shayan
anything
wahum
but (are) themselves
yukh'laqūna
created
۝٢٠
And those they invoke other than Allāh create nothing, and they [themselves] are created.
amwātun
(They are) dead
ghayru
not alive
aḥyāin
not alive
wamā
And not
yashʿurūna
they perceive
ayyāna
when
yub'ʿathūna
they will be resurrected
۝٢١
They are [in fact] dead, not alive, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected.
ilāhukum
Your god
ilāhun
(is) God
wāḥidun
One
fa-alladhīna
But those who
lā
(do) not
yu'minūna
believe
bil-ākhirati
in the Hereafter
qulūbuhum
their hearts
munkiratun
refuse
wahum
and they
mus'takbirūna
(are) arrogant
۝٢٢
Your god is one God. But those who do not believe in the Hereafter - their hearts are disapproving, and they are arrogant.
lā
No doubt
jarama
No doubt
anna
that
l-laha
Allah
yaʿlamu
knows
mā
what
yusirrūna
they conceal
wamā
and what
yuʿ'linūna
they reveal
innahu
Indeed, He
lā
(does) not
yuḥibbu
love
l-mus'takbirīna
the arrogant ones
۝٢٣
Assuredly, Allāh knows what they conceal and what they declare. Indeed, He does not like the arrogant.
wa-idhā
And when
qīla
it is said
lahum
to them
mādhā
What
anzala
has your Lord sent down
rabbukum
has your Lord sent down
qālū
They say
asāṭīru
Tales
l-awalīna
(of) the ancient
۝٢٤
And when it is said to them, "What has your Lord sent down?" they say, "Legends of the former peoples,"
liyaḥmilū
That they may bear
awzārahum
their own burdens
kāmilatan
(in) full
yawma
on (the) Day
l-qiyāmati
(of) the Resurrection
wamin
and of
awzāri
the burdens
alladhīna
(of) those whom
yuḍillūnahum
they misled [them]
bighayri
without
ʿil'min
knowledge
alā
Unquestionably
sāa
evil
mā
(is) what
yazirūna
they will bear
۝٢٥
That they may bear their own burdens [i.e., sins] in full on the Day of Resurrection and some of the burdens of those whom they misguide without [i.e., by lack of] knowledge. Unquestionably, evil is that which they bear.
qad
Verily
makara
plotted
alladhīna
those who
min
(were) before them
qablihim
(were) before them
fa-atā
but Allah came
l-lahu
but Allah came
bun'yānahum
(at) their building
mina
from
l-qawāʿidi
the foundations
fakharra
so fell
ʿalayhimu
upon them
l-saqfu
the roof
min
from
fawqihim
above them
wa-atāhumu
and came to them
l-ʿadhābu
the punishment
min
from
ḥaythu
where
lā
they (did) not perceive
yashʿurūna
they (did) not perceive
۝٢٦
Those before them had already plotted, but Allāh came at [i.e., uprooted] their building from the foundations, so the roof fell upon them from above them, and the punishment came to them from where they did not perceive.
thumma
Then
yawma
(on) the Day
l-qiyāmati
(of) the Resurrection
yukh'zīhim
He will disgrace them
wayaqūlu
and say
ayna
Where
shurakāiya
(are) My partners
alladhīna
those (for) whom
kuntum
you used (to)
tushāqqūna
oppose
fīhim
[in them]
qāla
Will say
alladhīna
those who
ūtū
were given
l-ʿil'ma
the knowledge
inna
Indeed
l-khiz'ya
the disgrace
l-yawma
this Day
wal-sūa
and evil
ʿalā
(are) upon
l-kāfirīna
the disbelievers
۝٢٧
Then on the Day of Resurrection He will disgrace them and say, "Where are My 'partners' for whom you used to oppose [the believers]?" Those who were given knowledge will say, "Indeed disgrace, this Day, and evil are upon the disbelievers" -
alladhīna
Those whom
tatawaffāhumu
take them in death
l-malāikatu
the Angels
ẓālimī
(while) wronging
anfusihim
themselves
fa-alqawū
then they would offer
l-salama
the submission
mā
Not
kunnā
we were
naʿmalu
doing
min
any
sūin
evil
balā
Nay
inna
indeed
l-laha
Allah
ʿalīmun
(is) All-Knower
bimā
of what
kuntum
you used (to)
taʿmalūna
do
۝٢٨
The ones whom the angels take in death [while] wronging themselves, and [who] then offer submission, [saying], "We were not doing any evil." But, yes! Indeed, Allāh is Knowing of what you used to do.
fa-ud'khulū
So enter
abwāba
(the) gates
jahannama
(of) Hell
khālidīna
(to) abide forever
fīhā
in it
falabi'sa
Surely, wretched
mathwā
(is the) abode
l-mutakabirīna
(of) the arrogant
۝٢٩
So enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and how wretched is the residence of the arrogant.
waqīla
And it will be said
lilladhīna
to those who
ittaqaw
fear Allah
mādhā
What
anzala
has your Lord sent down
rabbukum
has your Lord sent down
qālū
They will say
khayran
Good
lilladhīna
For those who
aḥsanū
do good
fī
in
hādhihi
this
l-dun'yā
world
ḥasanatun
(is) a good
waladāru
and the home
l-ākhirati
of the Hereafter
khayrun
(is) better
walaniʿ'ma
And surely excellent
dāru
(is) the home
l-mutaqīna
(of) the righteous
۝٣٠
And it will be said to those who feared Allāh, "What did your Lord send down?" They will say, "[That which is] good." For those who do good in this world is good; and the home of the Hereafter is better. And how excellent is the home of the righteous -
jannātu
Gardens
ʿadnin
(of) Eden
yadkhulūnahā
which they will enter
tajrī
flows
min
from
taḥtihā
underneath them
l-anhāru
the rivers
lahum
For them
fīhā
therein
mā
(will be) whatever
yashāūna
they wish
kadhālika
Thus
yajzī
Allah rewards
l-lahu
Allah rewards
l-mutaqīna
the righteous
۝٣١
Gardens of perpetual residence, which they will enter, beneath which rivers flow. They will have therein whatever they wish. Thus does Allāh reward the righteous -
alladhīna
Those whom
tatawaffāhumu
take them in death
l-malāikatu
the Angels
ṭayyibīna
(when they are) pure
yaqūlūna
saying
salāmun
Peace
ʿalaykumu
(be) upon you
ud'khulū
Enter
l-janata
Paradise
bimā
for what
kuntum
you used (to)
taʿmalūna
do
۝٣٢
The ones whom the angels take in death, [being] good and pure; [the angels] will say, "Peace be upon you. Enter Paradise for what you used to do."
hal
Do
yanẓurūna
they wait
illā
except
an
that
tatiyahumu
(should) come to them
l-malāikatu
the Angels
aw
or
yatiya
(should) come
amru
(the) Command
rabbika
(of) your Lord
kadhālika
Thus
faʿala
did
alladhīna
those who
min
(were) before them
qablihim
(were) before them
wamā
And not
ẓalamahumu
wronged them
l-lahu
Allah
walākin
but
kānū
they were
anfusahum
themselves
yaẓlimūna
wronging
۝٣٣
Do they [i.e., the disbelievers] await except that the angels should come to them or there comes the command of your Lord? Thus did those do before them. And Allāh wronged them not, but they had been wronging themselves.
fa-aṣābahum
Then struck them
sayyiātu
(the) evil (results)
mā
(of) what
ʿamilū
they did
waḥāqa
and surrounded
bihim
them
mā
what
kānū
they used (to)
bihi
[of it]
yastahziūna
mock
۝٣٤
So they were struck by the evil consequences of what they did and were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.
waqāla
And said
alladhīna
those who
ashrakū
associate partners (with Allah)
law
If
shāa
Allah (had) willed
l-lahu
Allah (had) willed
mā
not
ʿabadnā
we (would) have worshipped
min
other than Him
dūnihi
other than Him
min
any
shayin
thing
naḥnu
we
walā
and not
ābāunā
our forefathers
walā
and not
ḥarramnā
we (would) have forbidden
min
other than Him
dūnihi
other than Him
min
anything
shayin
anything
kadhālika
Thus
faʿala
did
alladhīna
those who
min
(were) before them
qablihim
(were) before them
fahal
Then is (there)
ʿalā
on
l-rusuli
the messengers
illā
except
l-balāghu
the conveyance
l-mubīnu
clear
۝٣٥
And those who associate others with Allāh say, "If Allāh had willed, we would not have worshipped anything other than Him, neither we nor our fathers, nor would we have forbidden anything through other than Him." Thus did those do before them. So is there upon the messengers except [the duty of] clear notification?
walaqad
And certainly
baʿathnā
We sent
fī
into
kulli
every
ummatin
nation
rasūlan
a Messenger
ani
that
uʿ'budū
Worship
l-laha
Allah
wa-ij'tanibū
and avoid
l-ṭāghūta
the false deities
famin'hum
Then among them
man
(were some) whom
hadā
Allah guided
l-lahu
Allah guided
wamin'hum
and among them
man
(were) some
ḥaqqat
was justified
ʿalayhi
on them
l-ḍalālatu
the straying
fasīrū
So travel
fī
in
l-arḍi
the earth
fa-unẓurū
and see
kayfa
how
kāna
was
ʿāqibatu
the end
l-mukadhibīna
(of) the deniers
۝٣٦
And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allāh and avoid ṭāghūt." And among them were those whom Allāh guided, and among them were those upon whom error was [deservedly] decreed. So proceed [i.e., travel] through the earth and observe how was the end of the deniers.
in
If
taḥriṣ
you desire
ʿalā
[for]
hudāhum
their guidance
fa-inna
then indeed
l-laha
Allah
lā
(will) not
yahdī
guide
man
whom
yuḍillu
He lets go astray
wamā
and not (are)
lahum
for them
min
any
nāṣirīna
helpers
۝٣٧
[Even] if you should strive for their guidance, [O Muḥammad], indeed, Allāh does not guide those He sends astray, and they will have no helpers.
wa-aqsamū
And they swear
bil-lahi
by Allah
jahda
strongest
aymānihim
(of) their oaths
lā
Allah will not resurrect
yabʿathu
Allah will not resurrect
l-lahu
Allah will not resurrect
man
(one) who
yamūtu
dies
balā
Nay
waʿdan
(it is) a promise
ʿalayhi
upon Him
ḥaqqan
(in) truth
walākinna
but
akthara
most
l-nāsi
(of) the mankind
lā
(do) not
yaʿlamūna
know
۝٣٨
And they swear by Allāh their strongest oaths [that] Allāh will not resurrect one who dies. But yes - [it is] a true promise [binding] upon Him, but most of the people do not know.
liyubayyina
That He will make clear
lahumu
to them
alladhī
that
yakhtalifūna
they differ
fīhi
wherein
waliyaʿlama
and that may know
alladhīna
those who
kafarū
disbelieved
annahum
that they
kānū
were
kādhibīna
liars
۝٣٩
[It is] so He will make clear to them [the truth of] that wherein they differ and so those who have disbelieved may know that they were liars.
innamā
Only
qawlunā
Our Word
lishayin
to a thing
idhā
when
aradnāhu
We intend it
an
(is) that
naqūla
We say
lahu
to it
kun
Be
fayakūnu
and it is
۝٤٠
Indeed, Our word to a thing when We intend it is but that We say to it, "Be," and it is.
wa-alladhīna
And those who
hājarū
emigrated
fī
in (the way)
l-lahi
(of) Allah
min
after
baʿdi
after
mā
[what]
ẓulimū
they were wronged
lanubawwi-annahum
surely We will give them position
fī
in
l-dun'yā
the world
ḥasanatan
good
wala-ajru
but surely the reward
l-ākhirati
(of) the Hereafter
akbaru
(is) greater
law
if
kānū
they
yaʿlamūna
know
۝٤١
And those who emigrated for [the cause of] Allāh after they had been wronged - We will surely settle them in this world in a good place; but the reward of the Hereafter is greater, if only they could know.
alladhīna
Those who
ṣabarū
(are) patient
waʿalā
and on
rabbihim
their Lord
yatawakkalūna
they put their trust
۝٤٢
[They are] those who endured patiently and upon their Lord relied.
wamā
And not
arsalnā
We sent
min
before you
qablika
before you
illā
except
rijālan
men
nūḥī
We revealed
ilayhim
to them
fasalū
so ask
ahla
(the) people
l-dhik'ri
(of) the Reminder
in
if
kuntum
you
lā
(do) not
taʿlamūna
know
۝٤٣
And We sent not before you except men to whom We revealed [Our message]. So ask the people of the message [i.e., former scriptures] if you do not know.
bil-bayināti
With the clear proofs
wal-zuburi
and the Books
wa-anzalnā
And We sent down
ilayka
to you
l-dhik'ra
the Remembrance
litubayyina
that you may make clear
lilnnāsi
to the mankind
mā
what
nuzzila
has been sent down
ilayhim
to them
walaʿallahum
and that they may
yatafakkarūna
reflect
۝٤٤
[We sent them] with clear proofs and written ordinances. And We revealed to you the message [i.e., the Qur’ān] that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them and that they might give thought.
afa-amina
Do then feel secure
alladhīna
those who
makarū
plotted
l-sayiāti
the evil deeds
an
that
yakhsifa
Allah will cave
l-lahu
Allah will cave
bihimu
with them
l-arḍa
the earth
aw
or
yatiyahumu
will come to them
l-ʿadhābu
the punishment
min
from
ḥaythu
where
lā
not
yashʿurūna
they perceive

And if Allāh were to impose blame on the people for their wrongdoing, He would not have left upon it [i.e., the earth] any creature, but He defers them for a specified term. And when their term has come, they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it].

And Allāh has favored some of you over others in provision. But those who were favored [i.e., given more] would not hand over their provision to those whom their right hands possess [i.e., slaves] so they would be equal to them therein. Then is it the favor of Allāh they reject?
