Choose what feels closest. You'll get an ayah, a Name of Allah, a sourced hadith, a moment from the Sira and one small thing to do — nothing more.
Heavy heart? A gentle support pathway — grounding, a trusted person, professional help. Distress is not weak faith.
“Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allāh. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allāh hearts are assured.”
In distress the Prophet ﷺ would say: “None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Mighty, the Forbearing…”
In the cave during the Hijra, he reassured Abu Bakr: Allah is with us (9:40).
Make wudu slowly, then read the du'a of distress once, calmly.
“For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease [i.e., relief]. Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.”
No fatigue, illness, worry or grief afflicts a Muslim — even a thorn's prick — except that Allah expiates some of his sins by it.
Tell Allah, in your own words, exactly what hurts.
“And He found you lost and guided [you],”
In a hadith qudsi Allah says: “All of you are astray except those I guide, so seek guidance from Me and I will guide you.”
Read Al-Fatihah slowly and pause at “Guide us”.
“And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.'”
How wonderful the affair of the believer: if good comes he is grateful, and that is good for him.
He prayed at night until his feet swelled, saying: “Should I not be a grateful servant?”
Name three blessings out loud and say “Alhamdulillah” for each.
“Who spend [in the cause of Allāh] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people - and Allāh loves the doers of good;”
The strong one is not the one who overcomes people by strength, but the one who controls himself when angry.
Entering Makkah victorious, he declared safety for those who laid down arms or stayed in their homes — after years of hostility.
Before answering anyone, wait, and say “A'udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim”.
“And when My servants ask you, [O Muḥammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.”
He ﷺ sought refuge with Allah from worry and grief, helplessness and laziness.
Rejected at Ta'if, he still answered with mercy, hoping their descendants would believe.
Send one kind message to someone — and make a du'a for them by name.
“Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allāh. Indeed, Allāh forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.”
The best way to seek forgiveness (Sayyid al-istighfar): “O Allah, You are my Lord… forgive me, for none forgives sins but You.”
Make wudu, pray two rak'ahs, and ask forgiveness in your own words.
“Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding -”
Jibril asked the Prophet ﷺ about Islam, Iman and Ihsan — a whole religion in one conversation.
