بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
wal-qur'āni
By the Quran
l-ḥakīmi
the Wise
۝٢
By the wise Qur’ān,
innaka
Indeed, you
lamina
(are) among
l-mur'salīna
the Messengers
۝٣
Indeed you, [O Muḥammad], are from among the messengers,
ʿalā
On
ṣirāṭin
a Path
mus'taqīmin
Straight
۝٤
On a straight path.
tanzīla
A revelation
l-ʿazīzi
(of) the All-Mighty
l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful
۝٥
[This is] a revelation of the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,
litundhira
That you may warn
qawman
a people
mā
not
undhira
were warned
ābāuhum
their forefathers
fahum
so they
ghāfilūna
(are) heedless
۝٦
That you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are unaware.
laqad
Certainly
ḥaqqa
(has) proved true
l-qawlu
the word
ʿalā
upon
aktharihim
most of them
fahum
so they
lā
(do) not
yu'minūna
believe
۝٧
Already the word [i.e., decree] has come into effect upon most of them, so they do not believe.
innā
Indeed, We
jaʿalnā
[We] have placed
fī
on
aʿnāqihim
their necks
aghlālan
iron collars
fahiya
and they
ilā
(are up) to
l-adhqāni
the chins
fahum
so they
muq'maḥūna
(are with) heads raised up
۝٨
Indeed, We have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft.
wajaʿalnā
And We have made
min
from
bayni
before/between
aydīhim
their hands/their front
saddan
a barrier
wamin
and from
khalfihim
behind them
saddan
a barrier
fa-aghshaynāhum
and We covered them
fahum
so they
lā
(do) not
yub'ṣirūna
see
۝٩
And We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier and covered them, so they do not see.
wasawāon
And it (is) same
ʿalayhim
to them
a-andhartahum
whether you warn them
am
or
lam
(do) not
tundhir'hum
warn them
lā
not
yu'minūna
they will believe
۝١٠
And it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe.
innamā
Only
tundhiru
you (can) warn
mani
(him) who
ittabaʿa
follows
l-dhik'ra
the Reminder
wakhashiya
and fears
l-raḥmāna
the Most Gracious
bil-ghaybi
in the unseen
fabashir'hu
So give him glad tidings
bimaghfiratin
of forgiveness
wa-ajrin
and a reward
karīmin
noble
۝١١
You can only warn one who follows the message and fears the Most Merciful unseen. So give him good tidings of forgiveness and noble reward.
innā
Indeed, We
naḥnu
[We]
nuḥ'yī
[We] give life
l-mawtā
(to) the dead
wanaktubu
and We record
mā
what
qaddamū
they have sent before
waāthārahum
and their footprints
wakulla
and every
shayin
thing
aḥṣaynāhu
We have enumerated it
fī
in
imāmin
a Register
mubīnin
clear
۝١٢
Indeed, it is We who bring the dead to life and record what they have put forth and what they left behind, and all things We have enumerated in a clear register.
wa-iḍ'rib
And set forth
lahum
to them
mathalan
an example
aṣḥāba
(of the) companions
l-qaryati
(of) the city
idh
when
jāahā
came to it
l-mur'salūna
the Messengers
۝١٣
And present to them an example: the people of the city, when the messengers came to it -
idh
When
arsalnā
We sent
ilayhimu
to them
ith'nayni
two (Messengers)
fakadhabūhumā
but they denied both of them
faʿazzaznā
so We strengthened them
bithālithin
with a third
faqālū
and they said
innā
Indeed, We
ilaykum
to you
mur'salūna
(are) Messengers
۝١٤
When We sent to them two but they denied them, so We strengthened [them] with a third, and they said, "Indeed, we are messengers to you."
qālū
They said
mā
Not
antum
you
illā
(are) but
basharun
human beings
mith'lunā
like us
wamā
and not
anzala
has revealed
l-raḥmānu
the Most Gracious
min
any
shayin
thing
in
Not
antum
you
illā
(are) but
takdhibūna
lying
۝١٥
They said, "You are not but human beings like us, and the Most Merciful has not revealed a thing. You are only telling lies."
qālū
They said
rabbunā
Our Lord
yaʿlamu
knows
innā
that we
ilaykum
to you
lamur'salūna
(are) surely Messengers
۝١٦
They said, "Our Lord knows that we are messengers to you,
wamā
And not
ʿalaynā
(is) on us
illā
except
l-balāghu
the conveyance
l-mubīnu
clear
۝١٧
And we are not responsible except for clear notification."
qālū
They said
innā
Indeed, we
taṭayyarnā
[we] see an evil omen
bikum
from you
la-in
If
lam
not
tantahū
you desist
lanarjumannakum
surely, we will stone you
walayamassannakum
and surely will touch you
minnā
from us
ʿadhābun
a punishment
alīmun
painful
۝١٨
They said, "Indeed, we consider you a bad omen. If you do not desist, we will surely stone you, and there will surely touch you, from us, a painful punishment."
qālū
They said
ṭāirukum
Your evil omen
maʿakum
(be) with you
a-in
Is it because
dhukkir'tum
you are admonished
bal
Nay
antum
you
qawmun
(are) a people
mus'rifūna
transgressing
۝١٩
They said, "Your omen [i.e., fate] is with yourselves. Is it because you were reminded? Rather, you are a transgressing people."
wajāa
And came
min
from
aqṣā
(the) farthest end
l-madīnati
(of) the city
rajulun
a man
yasʿā
running
qāla
He said
yāqawmi
O my People
ittabiʿū
Follow
l-mur'salīna
the Messengers
۝٢٠
And there came from the farthest end of the city a man, running. He said, "O my people, follow the messengers.
ittabiʿū
Follow
man
(those) who
lā
(do) not
yasalukum
ask (of) you
ajran
any payment
wahum
and they
muh'tadūna
(are) rightly guided
۝٢١
Follow those who do not ask of you [any] payment, and they are [rightly] guided.
wamā
And what
liya
(is) for me
lā
(that) not
aʿbudu
I worship
alladhī
the One Who
faṭaranī
created me
wa-ilayhi
and to Whom
tur'jaʿūna
you will be returned
۝٢٢
And why should I not worship He who created me and to whom you will be returned?
a-attakhidhu
Should I take
min
besides Him
dūnihi
besides Him
ālihatan
gods
in
If
yurid'ni
intends for me
l-raḥmānu
the Most Gracious
biḍurrin
any harm
lā
not
tugh'ni
will avail
ʿannī
[from] me
shafāʿatuhum
their intercession
shayan
(in) anything
walā
and not
yunqidhūni
they (can) save me
۝٢٣
Should I take other than Him [false] deities [while], if the Most Merciful intends for me some adversity, their intercession will not avail me at all, nor can they save me?
innī
Indeed, I
idhan
then
lafī
surely would be in
ḍalālin
an error
mubīnin
clear
۝٢٤
Indeed, I would then be in manifest error.
innī
Indeed, I
āmantu
[I] have believed
birabbikum
in your Lord
fa-is'maʿūni
so listen to me
۝٢٥
Indeed, I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me."
qīla
It was said
ud'khuli
Enter
l-janata
Paradise
qāla
He said
yālayta
I wish
qawmī
my people
yaʿlamūna
knew
۝٢٦
It was said, "Enter Paradise." He said, "I wish my people could know
bimā
Of how
ghafara
has forgiven
lī
me
rabbī
my Lord
wajaʿalanī
and placed me
mina
among
l-muk'ramīna
the honored ones
۝٢٧
Of how my Lord has forgiven me and placed me among the honored."
wamā
And not
anzalnā
We sent down
ʿalā
upon
qawmihi
his people
min
after him
baʿdihi
after him
min
any
jundin
host
mina
from
l-samāi
the heaven
wamā
and not
kunnā
were We
munzilīna
(to) send down
۝٢٨
And We did not send down upon his people after him any soldiers from the heaven, nor would We have done so.
in
Not
kānat
it was
illā
but
ṣayḥatan
a shout
wāḥidatan
one
fa-idhā
then behold
hum
They
khāmidūna
(were) extinguished
۝٢٩
It was not but one shout, and immediately they were extinguished.
yāḥasratan
Alas
ʿalā
for
l-ʿibādi
the servants
mā
Not
yatīhim
came to them
min
any
rasūlin
Messenger
illā
but
kānū
they did
bihi
mock at him
yastahziūna
mock at him
۝٣٠
How regretful for the servants. There did not come to them any messenger except that they used to ridicule him.
alam
Do not
yaraw
they see
kam
how many
ahlaknā
We destroyed
qablahum
before them
mina
of
l-qurūni
the generations
annahum
That they
ilayhim
to them
lā
will not return
yarjiʿūna
will not return
۝٣١
Have they not considered how many generations We destroyed before them - that they to them will not return?
wa-in
And surely
kullun
all
lammā
then
jamīʿun
together
ladaynā
before Us
muḥ'ḍarūna
(will be) brought
۝٣٢
And indeed, all of them will yet be brought present before Us.
waāyatun
And a Sign
lahumu
for them
l-arḍu
(is) the earth
l-maytatu
dead
aḥyaynāhā
We give it life
wa-akhrajnā
and We bring forth
min'hā
from it
ḥabban
grain
famin'hu
and from it
yakulūna
they eat
۝٣٣
And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat.
wajaʿalnā
And We placed
fīhā
therein
jannātin
gardens
min
of
nakhīlin
date-palms
wa-aʿnābin
and grapevines
wafajjarnā
and We caused to gush forth
fīhā
in it
mina
of
l-ʿuyūni
the springs
۝٣٤
And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs -
liyakulū
That they may eat
min
of
thamarihi
its fruit
wamā
And not
ʿamilathu
made it
aydīhim
their hands
afalā
So will not
yashkurūna
they be grateful
۝٣٥
That they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful?
sub'ḥāna
Glory be
alladhī
(to) the One Who
khalaqa
created
l-azwāja
(in) pairs
kullahā
all
mimmā
of what
tunbitu
grows
l-arḍu
the earth
wamin
and of
anfusihim
themselves
wamimmā
and of what
lā
not
yaʿlamūna
they know
۝٣٦
Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know.
waāyatun
And a Sign
lahumu
for them
al-laylu
(is) the night
naslakhu
We withdraw
min'hu
from it
l-nahāra
the day
fa-idhā
Then behold
hum
They
muẓ'limūna
(are) those in darkness
۝٣٧
And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it the [light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness.
wal-shamsu
And the sun
tajrī
runs
limus'taqarrin
to a term appointed
lahā
for it
dhālika
That
taqdīru
(is the) Decree
l-ʿazīzi
(of) the All-Mighty
l-ʿalīmi
the All-Knowing
۝٣٨
And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.
wal-qamara
And the moon
qaddarnāhu
We have ordained for it
manāzila
phases
ḥattā
until
ʿāda
it returns
kal-ʿur'jūni
like the date stalk
l-qadīmi
the old
۝٣٩
And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk.
lā
Not
l-shamsu
the sun
yanbaghī
is permitted
lahā
for it
an
that
tud'rika
it overtakes
l-qamara
the moon
walā
and not
al-laylu
the night
sābiqu
(can) outstrip
l-nahāri
the day
wakullun
but all
fī
in
falakin
an orbit
yasbaḥūna
they are floating
۝٤٠
It is not allowable [i.e., possible] for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming.
waāyatun
And a Sign
lahum
for them
annā
(is) that
ḥamalnā
We carried
dhurriyyatahum
their offspring
fī
in
l-ful'ki
the ship
l-mashḥūni
laden
۝٤١
And a sign for them is that We carried their forefathers in a laden ship.
wakhalaqnā
And We created
lahum
for them
min
from
mith'lihi
(the) likes of it
mā
what
yarkabūna
they ride
۝٤٢
And We created for them from the likes of it that which they ride.
wa-in
And if
nasha
We will
nugh'riq'hum
We could drown them
falā
then not
ṣarīkha
(would be) a responder to a cry
lahum
for them
walā
and not
hum
they
yunqadhūna
would be saved
۝٤٣
And if We should will, We could drown them; then no one responding to a cry would there be for them, nor would they be saved
illā
Except
raḥmatan
(by) Mercy
minnā
from Us
wamatāʿan
and provision
ilā
for
ḥīnin
a time
۝٤٤
Except as a mercy from Us and provision for a time.
wa-idhā
And when
qīla
it is said
lahumu
to them
ittaqū
Fear
mā
what
bayna
(is) before you
aydīkum
(is) before you
wamā
and what
khalfakum
(is) behind you
laʿallakum
so that you may
tur'ḥamūna
receive mercy
۝٤٥
But when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy..."
wamā
And not
tatīhim
comes to them
min
of
āyatin
a Sign
min
from
āyāti
(the) Signs
rabbihim
(of) their Lord
illā
but
kānū
they
ʿanhā
from it
muʿ'riḍīna
turn away
۝٤٦
And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away.
wa-idhā
And when
qīla
it is said
lahum
to them
anfiqū
Spend
mimmā
from what
razaqakumu
(has) provided you
l-lahu
Allah
qāla
Said
alladhīna
those who
kafarū
disbelieved
lilladhīna
to those who
āmanū
believed
anuṭ'ʿimu
Should we feed
man
whom
law
if
yashāu
Allah willed
l-lahu
Allah willed
aṭʿamahu
He would have fed him
in
Not
antum
(are) you
illā
except
fī
in
ḍalālin
an error
mubīnin
clear
۝٤٧
And when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allāh has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allāh had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error."
wayaqūlūna
And they say
matā
When (is)
hādhā
this
l-waʿdu
promise
in
if
kuntum
you are
ṣādiqīna
truthful
۝٤٨
And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"
mā
Not
yanẓurūna
they await
illā
except
ṣayḥatan
a shout
wāḥidatan
one
takhudhuhum
it will seize them
wahum
while they
yakhiṣṣimūna
are disputing
۝٤٩
They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing.
falā
Then not
yastaṭīʿūna
they will be able
tawṣiyatan
(to) make a will
walā
and not
ilā
to
ahlihim
their people
yarjiʿūna
they (can) return
۝٥٠
And they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return.
wanufikha
And will be blown
fī
[in]
l-ṣūri
the trumpet
fa-idhā
and behold
hum
They
mina
from
l-ajdāthi
the graves
ilā
to
rabbihim
their Lord
yansilūna
[they] will hasten
۝٥١
And the Horn will be blown; and at once from the graves to their Lord they will hasten.
qālū
They [will] say
yāwaylanā
O woe to us
man
Who
baʿathanā
has raised us
min
from
marqadinā
our sleeping place
hādhā
This (is)
mā
What
waʿada
(had) promised
l-raḥmānu
the Most Gracious
waṣadaqa
and told (the) truth
l-mur'salūna
the Messengers
۝٥٢
They will say, "O woe to us! Who has raised us up from our sleeping place?" [The reply will be], "This is what the Most Merciful had promised, and the messengers told the truth."
in
Not
kānat
it will be
illā
but
ṣayḥatan
a shout
wāḥidatan
single
fa-idhā
so behold
hum
They
jamīʿun
all
ladaynā
before Us
muḥ'ḍarūna
(will be) brought
۝٥٣
It will not be but one blast, and at once they are all brought present before Us.
fal-yawma
So this Day
lā
not
tuẓ'lamu
will be wronged
nafsun
a soul
shayan
(in) anything
walā
and not
tuj'zawna
you will be recompensed
illā
except
mā
(for) what
kuntum
you used (to)
taʿmalūna
do
۝٥٤
So today [i.e., the Day of Judgement] no soul will be wronged at all, and you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do.
inna
Indeed
aṣḥāba
(the) companions
l-janati
(of) Paradise
l-yawma
this Day
fī
[in]
shughulin
will be occupied
fākihūna
(in) amusement
۝٥٥
Indeed the companions of Paradise, that Day, will be amused in [joyful] occupation -
hum
They
wa-azwājuhum
and their spouses
fī
in
ẓilālin
shades
ʿalā
on
l-arāiki
[the] couches
muttakiūna
reclining
۝٥٦
They and their spouses - in shade, reclining on adorned couches.
lahum
For them
fīhā
therein
fākihatun
(are) fruits
walahum
and for them
mā
(is) whatever
yaddaʿūna
they call for
۝٥٧
For them therein is fruit, and for them is whatever they request [or wish]
salāmun
Peace
qawlan
A word
min
from
rabbin
a Lord
raḥīmin
Most Merciful
۝٥٨
[And] "Peace," a word from a Merciful Lord.
wa-im'tāzū
But stand apart
l-yawma
today
ayyuhā
O criminals
l-muj'rimūna
O criminals
۝٥٩
[Then He will say], "But stand apart today, you criminals.
alam
Did not
aʿhad
I enjoin
ilaykum
upon you
yābanī
O Children of Adam
ādama
O Children of Adam
an
That
lā
(do) not
taʿbudū
worship
l-shayṭāna
the Shaitaan
innahu
indeed, he
lakum
(is) for you
ʿaduwwun
an enemy
mubīnun
clear
۝٦٠
Did I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you not worship Satan - [for] indeed, he is to you a clear enemy -
wa-ani
And that
uʿ'budūnī
you worship Me
hādhā
This
ṣirāṭun
(is) a Path
mus'taqīmun
Straight
۝٦١
And that you worship [only] Me? This is a straight path.
walaqad
And indeed
aḍalla
he led astray
minkum
from you
jibillan
a multitude
kathīran
great
afalam
Then did not
takūnū
you
taʿqilūna
use reason
۝٦٢
And he had already led astray from among you much of creation, so did you not use reason?
hādhihi
This (is)
jahannamu
(the) Hell
allatī
which
kuntum
you were
tūʿadūna
promised
۝٦٣
This is the Hellfire which you were promised.
iṣ'lawhā
Burn therein
l-yawma
today
bimā
because
kuntum
you used to
takfurūna
disbelieve
۝٦٤
[Enter to] burn therein today for what you used to deny."
al-yawma
This Day
nakhtimu
We will seal
ʿalā
[on]
afwāhihim
their mouths
watukallimunā
and will speak to Us
aydīhim
their hands
watashhadu
and will bear witness
arjuluhum
their feet
bimā
about what
kānū
they used to
yaksibūna
earn
۝٦٥
That Day, We will seal over their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify about what they used to earn.
walaw
And if
nashāu
We willed
laṭamasnā
We (would have) surely obliterated
ʿalā
[over]
aʿyunihim
their eyes
fa-is'tabaqū
then they (would) race
l-ṣirāṭa
(to find) the path
fa-annā
then how
yub'ṣirūna
(could) they see
۝٦٦
And if We willed, We could have obliterated their eyes, and they would race to [find] the path, and how could they see?
walaw
And if
nashāu
We willed
lamasakhnāhum
surely, We (would have) transformed them
ʿalā
in
makānatihim
their places
famā
then not
is'taṭāʿū
they would have been able
muḍiyyan
to proceed
walā
and not
yarjiʿūna
return
۝٦٧
And if We willed, We could have deformed them, [paralyzing them] in their places so they would not be able to proceed, nor could they return.
waman
And (he) whom
nuʿammir'hu
We grant him long life
nunakkis'hu
We reverse him
fī
in
l-khalqi
the creation
afalā
Then will not
yaʿqilūna
they use intellect
۝٦٨
And he to whom We grant long life We reverse in creation; so will they not understand?
wamā
And not
ʿallamnāhu
We taught him
l-shiʿ'ra
[the] poetry
wamā
and not
yanbaghī
it is befitting
lahu
for him
in
Not
huwa
it
illā
(is) except
dhik'run
a Reminder
waqur'ānun
and a Quran
mubīnun
clear
۝٦٩
And We did not give him [i.e., Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ)] knowledge of poetry, nor is it befitting for him. It is not but a message and a clear Qur’ān
liyundhira
To warn
man
(him) who
kāna
is
ḥayyan
alive
wayaḥiqqa
and may be proved true
l-qawlu
the Word
ʿalā
against
l-kāfirīna
the disbelievers
۝٧٠
To warn whoever is alive and justify the word [i.e., decree] against the disbelievers.
awalam
Do not
yaraw
they see
annā
that We
khalaqnā
[We] created
lahum
for them
mimmā
from what
ʿamilat
have made
aydīnā
Our hands
anʿāman
cattle
fahum
then they
lahā
[for them]
mālikūna
(are the) owners
۝٧١
Do they not see that We have created for them from what Our hands have made, grazing livestock, and [then] they are their owners?
wadhallalnāhā
And We have tamed them
lahum
for them
famin'hā
so some of them
rakūbuhum
they ride them
wamin'hā
and some of them
yakulūna
they eat
۝٧٢
And We have tamed them for them, so some of them they ride, and some of them they eat.
walahum
And for them
fīhā
therein
manāfiʿu
(are) benefits
wamashāribu
and drinks
afalā
so (will) not
yashkurūna
they give thanks
۝٧٣
And for them therein are [other] benefits and drinks, so will they not be grateful?
wa-ittakhadhū
But they have taken
min
besides
dūni
besides
l-lahi
Allah
ālihatan
gods
laʿallahum
that they may
yunṣarūna
be helped
۝٧٤
But they have taken besides Allāh [false] deities that perhaps they would be helped.
lā
Not
yastaṭīʿūna
they are able
naṣrahum
to help them
wahum
but they
lahum
for them
jundun
(are) hosts
muḥ'ḍarūna
(who will) be brought
۝٧٥
They are not able to help them, and they [themselves] are for them soldiers in attendance.
falā
So (let) not
yaḥzunka
grieve you
qawluhum
their speech
innā
Indeed, We
naʿlamu
[We] know
mā
what
yusirrūna
they conceal
wamā
and what
yuʿ'linūna
they declare
۝٧٦
So let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, We know what they conceal and what they declare.
awalam
Does not
yara
see
l-insānu
[the] man
annā
that We
khalaqnāhu
[We] created him
min
from
nuṭ'fatin
a semen-drop
fa-idhā
Then behold
huwa
He
khaṣīmun
(is) an opponent
mubīnun
clear
۝٧٧
Does man not consider that We created him from a [mere] sperm-drop - then at once he is a clear adversary?
waḍaraba
And he sets forth
lanā
for Us
mathalan
an example
wanasiya
and forgets
khalqahu
his (own) creation
qāla
He says
man
Who
yuḥ'yī
will give life
l-ʿiẓāma
(to) the bones
wahiya
while they
ramīmun
(are) decomposed
۝٧٨
And he presents for Us an example and forgets his [own] creation. He says, "Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated?"
qul
Say
yuḥ'yīhā
He will give them life
alladhī
Who
ansha-ahā
produced them
awwala
(the) first
marratin
time
wahuwa
and He
bikulli
(is) of every
khalqin
creation
ʿalīmun
All-Knower
۝٧٩
Say, "He will give them life who produced them the first time; and He is, of all creation, Knowing."
alladhī
The One Who
jaʿala
made
lakum
for you
mina
from
l-shajari
the tree
l-akhḍari
[the] green
nāran
fire
fa-idhā
and behold
antum
You
min'hu
from it
tūqidūna
ignite
۝٨٠
[It is] He who made for you from the green tree, fire, and then from it you ignite.
awalaysa
Is it not
alladhī
(He) Who
khalaqa
created
l-samāwāti
the heavens
wal-arḍa
and the earth
biqādirin
Able
ʿalā
to
an
[that]
yakhluqa
create
mith'lahum
(the) like of them
balā
Yes, indeed
wahuwa
and He
l-khalāqu
(is) the Supreme Creator
l-ʿalīmu
the All-Knower
۝٨١
Is not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes, [it is so]; and He is the Knowing Creator.
innamā
Only
amruhu
His Command
idhā
when
arāda
He intends
shayan
a thing
an
that
yaqūla
He says
lahu
to it
kun
Be
fayakūnu
and it is
۝٨٢
His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, "Be," and it is.
fasub'ḥāna
So glory be
alladhī
(to) the One who
biyadihi
in Whose hand
malakūtu
is (the) dominion
kulli
(of) all
shayin
things
wa-ilayhi
and to Him
tur'jaʿūna
you will be returned
۝٨٣
So exalted is He in whose hand is the realm of all things, and to Him you will be returned.
