بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
alam
Have not tara
you seen kayfa
how faʿala
dealt rabbuka
your Lord bi-aṣḥābi
with (the) Companions l-fīli
(of the) Elephant ۝١
Have you not considered, [O Muḥammad], how your Lord dealt with the companions of the elephant?
alam
Did not yajʿal
He make kaydahum
their plan fī
go taḍlīlin
astray ۝٢
Did He not make their plan into misguidance?
wa-arsala
And He sent ʿalayhim
against them ṭayran
birds abābīla
(in) flocks ۝٣
And He sent against them birds in flocks,
tarmīhim
Striking them biḥijāratin
with stones min
of sijjīlin
baked clay ۝٤
Striking them with stones of hard clay,
fajaʿalahum
Then He made them kaʿaṣfin
like straw makūlin
eaten up ۝٥
And He made them like eaten straw.
