وَإِنwa-in And ifيَرَوْا۟yaraw they seeءَايَةًۭāyatan a Signيُعْرِضُوا۟yuʿ'riḍū they turn awayوَيَقُولُوا۟wayaqūlū and sayسِحْرٌۭsiḥ'run Magicمُّسْتَمِرٌّۭmus'tamirrun continuing٢
Et s’ils voient un prodige, ils s’en détournent et disent : "Une magie éphémère."
وَكَذَّبُوا۟wakadhabū And they deniedوَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟wa-ittabaʿū and followedأَهْوَآءَهُمْ ۚahwāahum their desiresوَكُلُّwakullu but (for) everyأَمْرٍۢamrin matterمُّسْتَقِرٌّۭmus'taqirrun (will be a) settlement٣
Et ils [le] traitent de mensonge et suivent leurs propres impulsions, or chaque chose arrivera à son terme [et son but]
وَلَقَدْwalaqad And certainlyجَآءَهُمjāahum has come to themمِّنَmina ofٱلْأَنۢبَآءِl-anbāi the informationمَاmā whereinفِيهِfīhi whereinمُزْدَجَرٌmuz'dajarun (is) deterrence٤
Ils ont pourtant reçu comme nouvelles de quoi les empêcher (du mal) ;
فَتَوَلَّfatawalla So turn awayعَنْهُمْ ۘʿanhum from themيَوْمَyawma (The) Dayيَدْعُyadʿu will callٱلدَّاعِl-dāʿi the callerإِلَىٰilā toشَىْءٍۢshayin a thingنُّكُرٍnukurin terrible٦
Détourne-toi d’eux. Le jour où l’appeleur appellera vers une chose affreuse,
خُشَّعًاkhushaʿan (Will be) humbledأَبْصَـٰرُهُمْabṣāruhum their eyesيَخْرُجُونَyakhrujūna they will come forthمِنَmina fromٱلْأَجْدَاثِl-ajdāthi the gravesكَأَنَّهُمْka-annahum as if they (were)جَرَادٌۭjarādun locustsمُّنتَشِرٌۭmuntashirun spreading٧
les regards baissés, ils sortiront des tombes comme des sauterelles éparpillées,
مُّهْطِعِينَmuh'ṭiʿīna Racing aheadإِلَىilā towardsٱلدَّاعِ ۖl-dāʿi the callerيَقُولُyaqūlu Will sayٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَl-kāfirūna the disbelieversهَـٰذَاhādhā Thisيَوْمٌyawmun (is) a Dayعَسِرٌۭʿasirun difficult٨
courant, le cou tendu, vers l’appeleur. Les mécréants diront : "Voilà un jour difficile."
۞ كَذَّبَتْkadhabat Deniedقَبْلَهُمْqablahum before themقَوْمُqawmu (the) peopleنُوحٍۢnūḥin (of) Nuhفَكَذَّبُوا۟fakadhabū and they deniedعَبْدَنَاʿabdanā Our slaveوَقَالُوا۟waqālū and saidمَجْنُونٌۭmajnūnun A madmanوَٱزْدُجِرَwa-uz'dujira and he was repelled٩
Avant eux, le peuple de Noé avait crié au mensonge. Ils traitèrent Notre serviteur de menteur et dirent : "C’est un possédé !" Et il fut repoussé.
فَفَتَحْنَآfafataḥnā So We openedأَبْوَٰبَabwāba (the) gatesٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāi (of) heavenبِمَآءٍۢbimāin with waterمُّنْهَمِرٍۢmun'hamirin pouring down١١
Nous ouvrîmes alors les portes du ciel à une eau torrentielle,
وَفَجَّرْنَاwafajjarnā And We caused to burstٱلْأَرْضَl-arḍa the earthعُيُونًۭاʿuyūnan (with) springsفَٱلْتَقَىfal-taqā so metٱلْمَآءُl-māu the water(s)عَلَىٰٓʿalā forأَمْرٍۢamrin a matterقَدْqad alreadyقُدِرَqudira predestined١٢
et fîmes jaillir la terre en sources. Les eaux se rencontrèrent d’après un ordre qui était déjà décrété.
وَحَمَلْنَـٰهُwaḥamalnāhu And We carried himعَلَىٰʿalā onذَاتِdhāti (ark) made of planksأَلْوَٰحٍۢalwāḥin (ark) made of planksوَدُسُرٍۢwadusurin and nails١٣
Et Nous le portâmes sur un objet [fait] de planches et de clous [l’arche],
وَلَقَدwalaqad And certainlyتَّرَكْنَـٰهَآtaraknāhā We left itءَايَةًۭāyatan (as) a Signفَهَلْfahal so is (there)مِنmin anyمُّدَّكِرٍۢmuddakirin who will receive admonition١٥
Et Nous la laissâmes, comme un signe [d’avertissement]. Y a-t-il quelqu’un pour réfléchir ?
وَلَقَدْwalaqad And certainlyيَسَّرْنَاyassarnā We have made easyٱلْقُرْءَانَl-qur'āna the Quranلِلذِّكْرِlildhik'ri for remembranceفَهَلْfahal so is (there)مِنmin anyمُّدَّكِرٍۢmuddakirin who will receive admonition١٧
En effet, Nous avons rendu le Coran facile pour la médiation. Y a-t- il quelqu’un pour réfléchir?
تَنزِعُtanziʿu Plucking outٱلنَّاسَl-nāsa menكَأَنَّهُمْka-annahum as if they (were)أَعْجَازُaʿjāzu trunksنَخْلٍۢnakhlin (of) date-palmsمُّنقَعِرٍۢmunqaʿirin uprooted٢٠
il arrachait les gens comme des souches de palmiers déracinés.
وَلَقَدْwalaqad And certainlyيَسَّرْنَاyassarnā We have made easyٱلْقُرْءَانَl-qur'āna the Quranلِلذِّكْرِlildhik'ri for remembranceفَهَلْfahal so is (there)مِنmin anyمُّدَّكِرٍۢmuddakirin who will receive admonition٢٢
En effet, Nous avons rendu le Coran facile pour la médiation. Y a-t-il quelqu’un pour réfléchir ?
فَقَالُوٓا۟faqālū And saidأَبَشَرًۭاabasharan Is (it) a human beingمِّنَّاminnā among usوَٰحِدًۭاwāḥidan oneنَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓnattabiʿuhu (that) we should follow himإِنَّآinnā Indeed, weإِذًۭاidhan thenلَّفِىlafī (will be) surely inضَلَـٰلٍۢḍalālin errorوَسُعُرٍwasuʿurin and madness٢٤
Ils dirent: "Allons-nous suivre un seul homme (Sâlîh) d’entre nous- mêmes ? Nous serions alors dans l’égarement et la folie.
أَءُلْقِىَa-ul'qiya Has been sentٱلذِّكْرُl-dhik'ru the Reminderعَلَيْهِʿalayhi to himمِنۢmin fromبَيْنِنَاbayninā among usبَلْbal Nayهُوَhuwa heكَذَّابٌkadhābun (is) a liarأَشِرٌۭashirun insolent٢٥
Est-ce que le message a été envoyé à lui à l’exception de nous tous ? C’est plutôt un grand menteur, plein de prétention et d’orgueil."
إِنَّاinnā Indeed, Weمُرْسِلُوا۟mur'silū (are) sendingٱلنَّاقَةِl-nāqati the she-camelفِتْنَةًۭfit'natan (as) a trialلَّهُمْlahum for themفَٱرْتَقِبْهُمْfa-ir'taqib'hum so watch themوَٱصْطَبِرْwa-iṣ'ṭabir and be patient٢٧
Nous leur enverrons la chamelle, comme épreuve . Surveille-les donc et sois patient.
وَنَبِّئْهُمْwanabbi'hum And inform themأَنَّanna thatٱلْمَآءَl-māa the waterقِسْمَةٌۢqis'matun (is) to be sharedبَيْنَهُمْ ۖbaynahum between themكُلُّkullu eachشِرْبٍۢshir'bin drinkمُّحْتَضَرٌۭmuḥ'taḍarun attended٢٨
Et informe-les que l’eau sera en partage entre eux [et la chamelle]; chacun boira à son tour.
إِنَّآinnā Indeed, Weأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnā [We] sentعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhim upon themصَيْحَةًۭṣayḥatan thunderous blastوَٰحِدَةًۭwāḥidatan singleفَكَانُوا۟fakānū and they becameكَهَشِيمِkahashīmi like dry twig fragmentsٱلْمُحْتَظِرِl-muḥ'taẓiri (used by) a fence builder٣١
Nous lâchâmes sur eux un seul Cri, et voilà qu’ils furent réduits à l’état de paille d’étable.
وَلَقَدْwalaqad And certainlyيَسَّرْنَاyassarnā We have made easyٱلْقُرْءَانَl-qur'āna the Quranلِلذِّكْرِlildhik'ri for remembranceفَهَلْfahal so is (there)مِنmin anyمُّدَّكِرٍۢmuddakirin who will receive admonition٣٢
Et vraiment, Nous avons rendu le Coran facile pour la médiation. Y a-t-il quelqu’un pour réfléchir ?
إِنَّآinnā Indeed, Weأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnā [We] sentعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhim upon themحَاصِبًاḥāṣiban a storm of stonesإِلَّآillā exceptءَالَāla (the) familyلُوطٍۢ ۖlūṭin (of) Lutنَّجَّيْنَـٰهُمnajjaynāhum We saved themبِسَحَرٍۢbisaḥarin by dawn٣٤
Nous lâchâmes sur eux un ouragan, excepté la famille de Lot que Nous sauvâmes avant l’aube,
وَلَقَدْwalaqad And certainlyأَنذَرَهُمandharahum he warned themبَطْشَتَنَاbaṭshatanā (of) Our seizureفَتَمَارَوْا۟fatamāraw but they disputedبِٱلنُّذُرِbil-nudhuri the warnings٣٦
Il les avait pourtant avertis de Nos représailles. Mais ils mirent les avertissements en doute.
وَلَقَدْwalaqad And certainlyرَٰوَدُوهُrāwadūhu they demanded from himعَنʿan they demanded from himضَيْفِهِۦḍayfihi his guestsفَطَمَسْنَآfaṭamasnā so We blindedأَعْيُنَهُمْaʿyunahum their eyesفَذُوقُوا۟fadhūqū So tasteعَذَابِىʿadhābī My punishmentوَنُذُرِwanudhuri and My warnings٣٧
En effet, ils voulaient séduire ses hôtes. Nous aveuglâmes leurs yeux "Goûtez donc Mon châtiment et Mes avertissements."
وَلَقَدْwalaqad And certainlyصَبَّحَهُمṣabbaḥahum seized them in the morningبُكْرَةًbuk'ratan earlyعَذَابٌۭʿadhābun a punishmentمُّسْتَقِرٌّۭmus'taqirrun abiding٣٨
En effet, au petit matin, un châtiment persistant les surprit.
وَلَقَدْwalaqad And certainlyيَسَّرْنَاyassarnā We have made easyٱلْقُرْءَانَl-qur'āna the Quranلِلذِّكْرِlildhik'ri for remembranceفَهَلْfahal so is (there)مِنmin anyمُّدَّكِرٍۢmuddakirin who will receive admonition٤٠
Et vraiment, Nous avons rendu le Coran facile pour la médiation. Y a-t-il quelqu’un pour réfléchir ?
كَذَّبُوا۟kadhabū They deniedبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاbiāyātinā Our Signsكُلِّهَاkullihā all of themفَأَخَذْنَـٰهُمْfa-akhadhnāhum so We seized themأَخْذَakhdha (with) a seizureعَزِيزٍۢʿazīzin (of) All-Mightyمُّقْتَدِرٍmuq'tadirin (the) Powerful One٤٢
Ils traitèrent de mensonges tous Nos prodiges. Nous les saisîmes donc, de la saisie d’un Puissant Omnipotent.
أَكُفَّارُكُمْakuffārukum Are your disbelieversخَيْرٌۭkhayrun betterمِّنْmin thanأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكُمْulāikum thoseأَمْam orلَكُمlakum for youبَرَآءَةٌۭbarāatun (is) an exemptionفِىfī inٱلزُّبُرِl-zuburi the Scriptures٤٣
Vos mécréants sont-ils meilleurs que ceux-là ? Ou bien y a-t-il dans les Ecritures une immunité pour vous ?
سَيُهْزَمُsayuh'zamu Soon will be defeatedٱلْجَمْعُl-jamʿu (their) assemblyوَيُوَلُّونَwayuwallūna and they will turnٱلدُّبُرَl-dubura (their) backs٤٥
Leur rassemblement sera bientôt mis en déroute, et ils fuiront.
بَلِbali Nayٱلسَّاعَةُl-sāʿatu the Hourمَوْعِدُهُمْmawʿiduhum (is) their promised timeوَٱلسَّاعَةُwal-sāʿatu and the Hourأَدْهَىٰadhā (will be) more grievousوَأَمَرُّwa-amarru and more bitter٤٦
L’Heure, plutôt, sera leur rendez-vous, et l’Heure sera plus terrible et plus amère.
يَوْمَyawma (The) Dayيُسْحَبُونَyus'ḥabūna they will be draggedفِىfī intoٱلنَّارِl-nāri the Fireعَلَىٰʿalā onوُجُوهِهِمْwujūhihim their facesذُوقُوا۟dhūqū Tasteمَسَّmassa (the) touchسَقَرَsaqara (of) Hell٤٨
Le jour où on les traînera dans le Feu sur leurs visages, (on leur dira) : "Goûtez au contact de Saqar [la chaleur brûlante de l’Enfer]."
وَمَآwamā And notأَمْرُنَآamrunā (is) Our Commandإِلَّاillā butوَٰحِدَةٌۭwāḥidatun oneكَلَمْحٍۭkalamḥin like the twinklingبِٱلْبَصَرِbil-baṣari (of) the eye٥٠
et Notre ordre est une seule [parole] ; [il est prompt] comme un clin d’œil.
وَلَقَدْwalaqad And certainlyأَهْلَكْنَآahlaknā We destroyedأَشْيَاعَكُمْashyāʿakum your kindsفَهَلْfahal so is (there)مِنmin anyمُّدَّكِرٍۢmuddakirin who will receive admonition٥١
En effet, nous avons fait périr des peuples semblables à vous. Y a-t-il quelqu’un pour s’en souvenir ?
